Class 1A Volleyball: Jade Halverson helps Liberty Baptist advance to Southern League semifinals.

Jade Halverson had 18 kills, 10 assists, 29 digs and four aces Wednesday to help Liberty Baptist’s girls volleyball team defeat Word of Life, 25-9, 23-25, 25-22, 25-20 in a Class 1A Southern League quarterfinal at Indian Springs.
Samantha Dunford added nine kills and eight digs, and Jessica Portillo had 21 assists and four aces for the Knights (15-15-1), who will face top-seeded and host Pahranagat Valley (19-11-3) in the semifinals at noon Saturday.
Word of Life finished 6-8 on the season.
In the other quarterfinal, host Beatty swept Indian Springs, 25-14, 25-17, 25-17.
The Hornets (9-8) will meet second-seeded Tonopah (17-4) in the second semifinal at 1:45 p.m. Saturday in Alamo. The two semifinal winners play for the title at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Indian Springs finished 5-8.
