GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Fiso, Virgin Valley outlast Calvary Chapel in five sets

Bernice Fiso had 18 kills and 18 digs Friday to lift Virgin Valley’s girls volleyball team to a 25-23, 17-25, 25-15, 20-15, 15-11 win over visiting Calvary Chapel.

Emma Barnum added 15 kills and 17 digs for Virgin Valley, which also got 34 assists from Calee Clem and four aces from Shalee Hafen.

Lexi Davis led Calvary Chapel with 18 assists. Sara Hernandez notched 29 digs, Malia Lee added seven kills, and Olivia Kaiser had 14 kills for the Lions, who got 11 assists from Michelle Odem.

St. Francis-Sacramento (California) 2, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Reno, Lauren Bell put down 17 kills and seven assists, but the Crusaders fell to the Troubadors 25-22, 21-25, 15-10 in the High Sierra Tournament.

Bryanna Neagle added six kills and six blocks, Tayah Washington had nine kills, and Logan Van Reken notched ten digs for Faith Lutheran, which also got six kills from Sydney Washington.

Spanish Springs 2, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Reno, Bell had 35 assists and six digs in the Crusaders’ 27-29, 25-18, 13-15 loss to the Cougars in the High Sierra Tournament.

Elizabeth Tuls had nine kills and three blocks, and Tayah Washington added nine kills for the Crusaders. Sydney Washington had 10 kills, and Van Reken had six digs for Faith Lutheran.

Faith Lutheran 2, Enterprise (California) 1 — At Reno, Bell dished out 20 assists to help the Crusaders to a 25-20, 25-12 win over the Hornets in the High Sierra Tournament.

Tayah Washington had seven kills and three aces, and Sydney Washington added five kills for the Crusaders, who got five blocks from Tuls.

Cheyenne 3, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Jasmine Jaeger’s 15 assists and 15 aces led the Desert Shields past the Sundevils, 25-13, 25-13, 25-18.

Aseret Geraldo finished with seven kills for Cheyenne.

Eldorado’s Kiana Parkes had two kills and one block, and teammate Haley Stark added two kills and two blocks.

Pahrump Valley 3, Del Sol 0 — At Pahrump, Koral Hearn served 10 aces to lead the Trojans to a 25-13, 25-9, 25-21 victory over the Dragons.

Alexis Trieb and Marietta Sobeck each had four kills for Pahrump Valley.

Bonanza 3, Western 0 — At Bonanza, Taryn Warner had six kills and four aces as the Bengals defeated the Warriors, 25-5, 25-9, 25-12.

Sydney Dunn had four kills, seven assists and three aces, and Jazzyia Green had five aces for Bonanza.

Adriana Jones had three kills for Western.
