GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Tech outlasts Chaparral, moves into fourth place in Sunrise League

Mariah Moses had nine kills, and Cadie Espe added seven kills for Tech’s girls volleyball team in a 18-25, 25-15, 23-25, 25-12, 15-5 victory over visiting Chaparral on Thursday.

Makenna Faught added 20 assists, four aces and six digs for the Roadrunners, who moved past Chaparral into sole possession of fourth place in the Class 3A Sunrise League with two regular-season matches remaining.

Kayla Cook had four kills, two aces and 15 digs, and Haylee Makue-Vasconcellos tallied four aces and 18 digs for Tech.

Alyssa Porras led the Cowboys with 17 kills, 11 assists and four aces.

Alexandria Williams had nine kills and three aces, and Lesly Quezada finished with eight kills, 13 assists and three aces for Chaparral.

Bonanza 3, Desert Oasis 1 — At Desert Oasis, Alexa Rodriguez had 10 kills and three aces, and Taryn Warner finished with nine kills, five aces and three blocks to lift the Bengals past the Diamondbacks.

Sydney Dunn added 22 assists, 12 digs, four aces and three blocks for Bonanza, which moved into third place in the Southwest League.

Emily Ragsdale had nine kills, and Kaia Rhodes notched eight kills and five blocks to lead Desert Oasis.

Laityn Sarna had 31 assists and six digs, and Kaaleya Price had five kills, seven aces and 11 digs for the Diamondbacks.

Bishop Gorman 3, Durango 0 — At Durango, Tommi Stockham had 14 kills, and Sydney Lobato finished with 27 assists, three aces and 10 digs to lead the Gaels past the Trailblazers, 25-14, 25-19, 25-19.

Abby Archambault had six kills, three aces and four blocks, Kylie Gibson had 10 kills, and Alysia Nielson had 12 digs for the Gaels.

Hailey Kraft had six kills and 21 digs for the Trailblazers, and teammate Makenzi Abelman added 18 assists, 10 digs and two blocks.

Faith Lutheran 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, Mary Vancura dished out 26 assists, and Sydney Washington added nine kills to lead the Crusaders to a 25-13, 25-12, 25-10 sweep of the Spartans.

Elizabeth Tuls had eight kills, and Logan Van Reken had 11 digs for Faith Lutheran.

Alexandra Payan supplied 11 digs, and Logan DeLong notched 10 assists to lead the Spartans.

Green Valley 3, Coronado 0 — At Green Valley, Abigail Olsen notched 26 assists and 16 digs to power the Gators to a 25-13, 25-16, 25-23 sweep of the Cougars.

Rachel Klopfer added 11 kills and six digs, and Emily Flowers had 10 digs for Green Valley.

Dallas Balanay-Flores had 17 assists, and teammate Taylor Reich contributed 16 digs to lead Coronado.

Zoe Lier had seven kills, and Ashlynn Ammerman added six kills for the Cougars.

Silverado 3, Basic 0 — At Basic, Sydney Berenyi had 11 kills, three aces and 10 digs to lead the Skyhawks to a sweep of the Wolves, 25-13, 25-23, 25-16.

MacKenzie Carter had 10 kills, three aces and six digs, and Mariah Morris had 10 kills for the Skyhawks.

Azure Werner had 10 kills, 10 digs and two blocks for Silverado, and teammate Kiara Richardson added six kills and three blocks.

Foothill 3, Liberty 0 — At Foothill, Whitley Brow had 15 kills and 10 digs, and Shaye Lemke added 10 kills as the Falcons downed the Patriots, 25-17, 25-19, 25-19.

Illiana Ortega supplied 22 digs for Foothill.

Erika Martinez had 24 digs, and Maggie Heim notched 12 kills and nine digs for Liberty, which got 14 assists from Tehani Tapuala.

Sierra Vista 3, Centennial 1 — At Sierra Vista, Aria Holmes had 15 kills, and Shantalle Demirjian contributed 14 kills and 15 digs to lead the Mountain Lions past the Bulldogs, 26-24, 25-22, 19-25, 25-19.

Lexy Nassiri had 20 digs for the Mountain Lions.

Kanani Lasike had eight kills, four digs and seven blocks to lead the Bulldogs.

Siara Roberts had eight kills, five assists, two aces and 16 digs, and Talie Bonds had three kills, 32 assists and seven digs for Centennial.

Calvary Chapel 2-2, The Meadows 1-1 — At The Meadows, Olivia Kaiser had 10 kills and 13 digs to lift the Lions to a 25-20, 21-25, 15-11 victory over the Mustangs and a sweep of the doubleheader.

Sara Hernandez had five kills and 16 digs, Michalla Odem had six kills, and Lexi Davis dished out 21 assists in the second match for the Lions, who took over sole possession of first place in the Class 2A Southern League.

In the opener, Kaiser had 13 kills and 12 digs as Calvary Chapel won, 25-17, 17-25, 17-15.

Malia Lee had seven kills, Odem had 12 digs, and Davis finished with 22 assists for the Lions in the first match.

Dani Mason finished with a total of 17 kills and 17 digs to lead The Meadows. Dina Kosyagin added 15 kills and nine blocks in the two matches for the Mustangs.

Spring Valley 3, Clark 0 — At Clark, the Grizzlies defeated the Chargers, 25-18, 25-20, 25-11.

Josefina Rossano had three kills, seven digs and seven blocks, and Melissa Patrick had five kils, two aces and five digs to lead Clark.

Natalyn Ngo had 11 assists, one ace and six digs, and Lexi Spilsbury had two kills and six digs for the Chargers.

Boulder City 3, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, the Eagles rolled to a 25-10, 25-9, 25-14 win over the Dragons.

Jessica Kailey had five digs for Del Sol.

Pahranagat Valley 3, Round Mountain 0 — At Round Mountain, the Panthers beat the Knights, 25-11, 25-13, 25-6.
