Lewis, Panthers sweep Pirates

Halie Lewis racked up 14 kills, 10 digs, two aces and two blocks Tuesday to help Pahranagat Valley's volleyball team to a 25-21, 25-20, 25-19 win over visiting Moapa Valley in the final regular-season match for both teams.

Kyla Mortensen added 14 kills, six digs and three aces, and Kimberly Lewis had 11 assists and two aces for the Panthers, who will open play in the Class 1A Southern League Tournament at Sunrise Mountain at 1:30 p.m. Friday against Adelson School.

Kennedy Huntsman dished out 15 assists, and Bailee Hosier had 11 digs for Pahranagat Valley.

Moapa Valley will face Virgin Valley in the Class 3A Southern League semifinal at Boulder City at 4 p.m. Friday.
