ROUNDUP: Bishop Gorman pads Southwest League lead

Dannielle Diamant had 13 kills and seven blocks Friday as Bishop Gorman opened up a two-game lead in the Southwest League volleyball standings with a 15-25, 25-14, 25-7, 25-15 win at Durango.

Liz Lisowski added 15 digs for Gorman, which improved to 9-0 in the league. Durango and Sierra Vista are tied for second at 7-2.

Kylie Shaw had 11 digs and nine kills for the Gaels. Liz Manthei added 13 assists and seven kills.

Hayley Spelman had 15 kills to lead the Trailblazers. Morgan Malone added 20 assists.

Sierra Vista 3, Western 1 — At Western, Kelsey Stegall had 13 kills and four aces in the Mountain Lions’ 25-14, 22-25, 25-8, 27-25 win over the Warriors.

Sierra Vista’s Brooke Robinson had nine kills and six aces, and Allie Herold added six kills and four aces.

Michelle Simon led Western with 18 kills. Brianna Hults added seven digs.

Bonanza 3, Spring Valley 1 — At Spring Valley, Shirley Pitts had 14 kills and nine digs to help the Bengals to a 25-19, 25-19, 21-25, 25-23 win over the Grizzlies.

Kori Black added eight kills and three blocks for Bonanza.

Laura Perri dished out 21 assists for Spring Valley. Dominique Acevedo added nine kills and nine digs, Anna Childs had 10 kills, and Kylie Hagens chipped in 12 digs.

Pahrump Valley 3, Clark 0 — At Pahrump Valley, Kristi Daffer had seven kills to lead the Trojans past the Chargers, 25-9, 25-16, 25-17.

Shayna Smith added five kills and four aces for Pahrump. Arlette Scott dished out 10 assists.

Bryton Benda led Clark with four kills. Anna Jaehn added three kills.

Rancho 3, Valley 1 — At Rancho, Aisha Momodu had 10 kills to help the Rams battle back for a 23-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-22 win over the Vikings.

Sarah Arceneaux added 15 assists and seven kills for Rancho. Christine Lauby had six kills, and Brandy Reynolds had seven digs and three aces.

Kersey Wahlquist led Valley with 18 assists and 10 aces. Maureen Aquino added nine kills. Aliza Robinson had seven digs and four blocks.

Desert Pines 3, Canyon Springs 2 — At Desert Pines, Andrea Jefferson’s 20 kills, six blocks and five aces helped the Jaguars rally past the Pioneers, 20-25, 25-18, 24-26, 25-21, 15-6.

Nikki LaGesse added 22 assists for Desert Pines. Kitty Corrow had five kills and five aces.

Shadow Ridge 3, Coronado 2 — At Coronado, Brittany Meyer had 32 assists and 11 digs as the Mustangs came back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Cougars, 21-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-22, 16-14.

Kylie Schraft had 20 kills, 12 digs and two aces for Shadow Ridge. Kelsey Tesoro added 15 kills and 10 digs.

Katie Gamsky led Coronado with 34 assists, seven blocks, four kills and four aces. Kuulei Piena added 13 kills and 13 digs. Mikayla Delobel had five blocks and four kills.

Faith Lutheran 3, Moapa Valley 2 — At Overton, Meagan Hauser had 20 kills and 11 digs as the Crusaders rallied for a 25-21, 17-25, 21-25, 25-22, 17-15 win over the Pirates.

Kelsey McCourt had 35 assists and two aces for Faith Lutheran. Hayley Washinsky added 12 kills.

Briane Olige had 19 kills for Moapa Valley. Jessica Waite added 20 digs.

Virgin Valley 3, Lake Mead 0 — At Mesquite, the host Bulldogs posted a 26-24, 25-12, 25-23 win over Lake Mead.

Ashley Newton had 14 blocks, 10 kills and eight digs for the Eagles. Amanda Wellman added 17 digs and 11 kills.

Other leaders for Lake Mead were: Jocelyn Cox, 14 digs, 13 blocks, eight assists; Jessica Rinaldi, 14 digs, nine assists; Sam Herman, 20 blocks, 11 digs; and Heather Hillenbrand, 16 blocks.

Mountain View 2-0, West Wendover 1-2 — At West Wendover, Charde Page had six kills and two blocks to help the Saints win the opening match of a doubleheader, 22-25, 25-20, 25-13. West Wendover took the second match, 25-19, 25-18.

Raven Miller added four kills and three blocks for Mountain View in the opener. Joy Tiongson, Felicia Joiner and Kristyn Gonzalez each had three kills. Joiner added three aces.

In the second match, Joiner served two aces.

Lincoln County 2-2, The Meadows 0-0 — At Panaca, Lincoln County swept a pair of matches, winning the opener 25-15, 26-24 and the nightcap, 25-23, 25-15.
