ROUNDUP: Centennial volleyball team tops Green Valley in five games

Johnna Brown compiled 12 kills, 16 digs and two blocks Wednesday to help Centennial’s volleyball team outlast visiting Green Valley, 16-25, 25-20, 25-19, 19-25, 15-13.

Morgan Vieira added 21 assists and 13 digs for Centennial, which trailed 12-9 in the fifth game before winning six of the final seven points.

Danielle York had 14 digs, three blocks and five kills for Centennial.

“It was a great defensive game on both sides,” Bulldogs coach Shannon Alia said.

Jena Chavez tallied 42 assists for Green Valley.

Siga Applegate added 18 kills and Sydney Brozovich had 15 kills for the Gators.

Shadow Ridge 3, Las Vegas 2 — At Las Vegas, Kylee Schraft had 21 kills and 22 digs to help Shadow Ridge outlast the Wildcats, 25-12, 12-25, 25-21, 17-25, 15-10.

Brittany Meyer added 33 assists and 15 digs for the Mustangs.

Danica Pickett led Las Vegas with 18 digs and five kills. Ruth Wittig added 17 digs and Tiffany Jackson had 14 assists, eight digs and eight blocks for the Wildcats.

Liberty 3, Desert Oasis 2 — At Liberty, Amanda Delgado had 13 kills and five aces to help the Patriots hold off Desert Oasis, 25-14, 25-19, 23-25, 25-27, 15-13.

Holly Vergara had 25 assists for the Patriots. Ali Fragosa had four kills and three blocks.

Kelsey Motis had 24 kills and 14 blocks for the Diamondbacks, Lenzi Cram added 10 blocks and Auburn Smith had 30 assists.

Valley 3, Cheyenne 2 — At Cheyenne, Kersey Wahlquist had 30 assists as Valley rallied for a 23-25, 24-26, 25-17, 25-10, 15-13 win over the Desert Shields.

Maureen Aquino had 13 kills and Aliza Robinson tallied six kills, three blocks and seven aces for Valley.

Meygan Schroeder and Jamie Schafer each had eight assists and four blocks for Cheyenne. Andrea Schmitz added four assists.

Foothill 3, Eldorado 1 — At Foothill, Rhianna Gelhart dished out 16 assists to help the Falcons down Eldorado, 25-21, 21-25, 25-23, 25-23.

Rosie Ritchie added eight aces and five digs for Foothill, Jessica Stevenson had six kills, five blocks and four digs and Whitney Welch had nine digs and six kills.

Sarah Childs had 12 kills and four blocks for Eldorado, Marissa Mousseau added 18 assists and Nohely Palacios had five kills.

Del Sol 3, Cimarron-Memorial 1 — At Del Sol, Kadie Miller had 29 assists and six aces and Karie Miller had eight digs and 11 kills as the Dragons beat the Spartans, 25-17, 23-25, 25-20, 25-16.

Bryana Chavez had seven digs and 10 kills for Del Sol, and Amanda Staten added five kills.

Charmaine Watkins had 11 kills and eight digs for Cimarron, and Jessica White had 19 assists.

Basic 3, Chaparral 1 — At Chaparral, Tara Patchatt had seven kills, four blocks and two aces and Caitlyn Gilmour added four kills, eight digs and three aces as Basic beat the Cowboys, 25-14, 22-25, 25-16, 25-17.

Chaparral’s Tabatha Wunsche had six kills and Jessica Colon five kills.

Rancho 3, Bonanza 1 — At Rancho, Kayla Williams dished out 28 assists in the Rams’ 25-14, 20-25, 25-18, 25-20 win over Bonanza.

Sarah Arceneaux had 12 kills for Rancho. Christine Lauby added seven kills.

Shirley Pitts led Bonanza with nine kills, and Alice Pitts added four kills and four blocks.

Arbor View 3, Clark 0 — At Arbor View, Maddie McCoy had seven aces and Tori Dunn had four kills as the Aggies beat the Chargers, 25-12, 25-9, 25-9.

Western 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Western, Sarah Fellhauer’s 13 kills helped the Warriors to a 25-11, 25-21, 25-10 win over Canyon Springs.
Erika Reynada added 16 digs for the Warriors.

Desert Pines 3, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, the Jaguars swept 25-18, 25-19, 25-12 behind eight kills from Rozia Bell and 21 assists from Nikki Lagesse.

Mojave’s Bobbie Harris had 12 digs.

Legacy 3, Tech 0 — At Tech, the Longhorns rolled to a 25-12, 25-19, 25-11 sweep.

Tech’s Jezebet Xaypanya had six digs.
