Roundup: Chaparral outlasts Desert Pines

Maria Victoria Agao had 19 assists and eight aces on Friday as Chaparral’s girls volleyball team defeated visiting Desert Pines, 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 21-25, 15-11.

Chaparral’s Bree’Jahn Banks also had 11 aces, and Jacqueline Rosales had eight digs for the Cowboys

Charity Hayman had eight kills for the Jaguars.

Foothill 2, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Foothill, Laynee Truscott had 12 assists and three aces as the Falcons swept the Miners, 25-5, 25-5 in the Las Vegas Invitational.

Foothill 2, Bonanza 0 — At Foothill, Truscott dished out 17 assists as the Falcons cruised to a 25-7, 25-10 win over the Bengals in the Las Vegas Invitational.

Kate Prior had five kills, five aces and two blocks, and Riana Blount added five kills and five digs for Foothill, which got six kills from Brooke Bykowski.

Bishop Alemany (Calif.) 2, Foothill 0 — At Foothill, Alemany was a 25-17, 25-21 winner over the Falcons in the Las Vegas Invitational.

Truscott had two kills and 10 assists, and Prior had five kills and two aces for Foothill.

Bishop Gorman 2, The Meadows 0 — At Las Vegas High, the Gaels defeated the Mustangs, 25-17, 25-8 in the Las Vegas Invitational.

Mira Gollard had eight assists for the Mustangs.

Laughlin 3, GV Christian 1 — At Laughlin, the Cougars were 25-13, 22-25, 25-15, 25-23 winners over the Guardians.

Cimarron-Memorial 2, The Meadows 0 — At Las Vegas High, the Spartans were 25-22, 25-12 winners over the Mustangs in the Las Vegas Invitational.

Gollard had 17 assists and Dani Mason had nine kills for The Meadows.

The Meadows 2, Virgin Valley 0 — At Las Vegas High, Gollard had 12 assists as the Mustangs defeated the Bulldogs, 25-12, 25-3 in the Las Vegas Invitational.
