ROUNDUP: Chun assists Gorman in holding off Bonanza for Southwest title

Kylee Chun racked up 63 assists, four kills and two aces Thursday as Bishop Gorman’s girls volleyball team secured the Southwest League title by outlasting host Bonanza, 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 22-25, 15-10.

Gianna Ruggeroli posted 12 kills, and Shelby Devlin and Emma Kirst each added nine kills and five blocks for the Gaels. Rachael Wallace had 10 kills for Gorman.

Bree Hammel had 22 kills, 12 digs and two aces, and Jessica Wilcox added eight digs, seven kills and four aces for Bonanza, which got 42 assists from Lauren Karn and 19 digs from Christina Angarola.

Durango 3, Western 0 — At Western, Sarah Tullis had 19 assists and six kills, and Mindy Larson added 10 digs and four kills as the Trailblazers clinched the Southwest League’s final postseason berth by sweeping the Warriors, 25-13, 25-8, 25-12.

Hailee Wilson spiked 10 kills for Durango.

Carol Riggs dished out 12 assists for Western.

Arbor View 3, Mojave 0 — At Arbor View, Allison McClure had nine assists and six aces, and Micaila McErlean had five aces and four assists as the Aggies swept the Rattlers, 25-8, 25-5, 25-13 and earned the Northwest League’s No. 3 seed for the Sunset Region tournament.

Amber Graham had five aces and three kills, and Natalie Stepna added three aces and three kills for Arbor View.

Centennial 3, Palo Verde 1 — At Centennial, Lacy Miyahira compiled 12 assists, nine digs, eight kills and three aces as the Bulldogs topped the Panthers, 25-13, 16-25, 25-13, 26-24.

Kassidy Welte had 13 kills and eight digs, and Ashley Hill added 14 digs for the Bulldogs, who got six blocks and five kills from Alicia Karst.

Faryn Duncan supplied 21 digs, and Stephanie Herman distributed 23 assists for Palo Verde, which got 12 digs and seven kills from Kendall Cheval.

Shadow Ridge 3, Legacy 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Destinee Beavers had six kills and nine digs, and teammate Madison Juilss had three kills and nine digs as the Mustangs swept the Longhorns, 25-12, 25-23, 25-14.

Sarah Randolph had four blocks and two kills, and Whitney Adiar added four kills for Legacy.

Faith Lutheran 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, Kelsey McCourt dished out 39 assists, and Taylor Hammer spiked 11 kills to lead the Crusaders to a sweep of the Spartans, 25-13, 25-14, 25-17.

Taylor Richards supplied eight kills, Lindsey Flangas had six digs, and Devynn Mills served five aces for Faith Lutheran.

Toree Manumaleuna led Cimarron with 14 kills, five digs and three blocks. Erica Padilla tallied 17 assists, and Chalon Henderson added five kills and three blocks for the Spartans.

Sierra Vista 3, Clark 1 — At Clark, McCall Phillips had 10 kills, 10 digs and five aces, and Taylor Price spiked 24 kills as the Mountain Lions held off the Chargers, 25-13, 25-15, 21-25, 25-13.

Desert Oasis 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Desert Oasis, Lenzi Cram had eight kills, and Kindra Stanfield added seven kills as the Diamondbacks swept the Grizzlies, 25-7, 25-23, 25-10.

Emily Heinz had seven digs and four kills for Desert Oasis.

Virgin Valley 3, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Nikki Arquette had 23 assists and eight digs, and teammate McCall Grajek added six aces, six digs and five kills as the Bulldogs defeated the Desert Shields, 25-19, 25-11, 14-25, 25-19.

Heidi Lister added six aces, six digs and five kills for Virgin Valley.

Avion Calhoun led Cheyenne with five kills. Brandi Cole supplied four blocks and two digs.

Boulder City 3, Moapa Valley 0 — At Boulder City, Ali Rants had 31 digs, and Avalon Frantz distributed 34 assists as the Eagles swept the Pirates, 25-9, 25-9, 26-24.

Whitney Barlow added 15 kills and four blocks for Boulder City.

Calvary Chapel 2-2, Needles 1-0 — At Needles, Calif., Brettani Davis had 19 digs and five aces in the opener and 20 digs and three kills in the nightcap as the Lions secured the Class 2A Southern League regular-season title by sweeping the Mustangs, 25-10, 23-25, 15-8 and 25-19, 25-14.

In the opener, Brooke Davis had 14 assists, seven digs and three kills for Calvary Chapel, which got five kills from Jamie Mejia and four kills from Alexis Harris.

In the finale, Brooke Davis had 10 assists, five digs and two aces for Calvary Chapel. McKenna Beckwith chipped in six digs and three aces, and Mejia had four kills for the Lions.

The Meadows 2-0, Lincoln County 0-2 — At The Meadows, Alex Hall had 11 digs, six kills and five assists in the opener and nine kills and six assists in the nightcap to help the Mustangs split a doubleheader with the Lynx.

Victoria Onufrieff added 11 digs and two aces, and Katie Magness had eight digs as The Meadows won the opener, 25-22, 25-22.

Britten Hafen had 12 assists, and Lacy Babcock added 11 digs for Lincoln County, which got seven kills from Nicole Florence.

Hafen dished out 10 assists, and Babcock compiled six aces and five digs as the Lynx took the finale, 25-15, 25-22.

Nicole Florence added seven kills, five digs and three blocks, and Tia Florence had four kills and four digs for Lincoln County.

Hall led the Mustangs with nine kills and six assists. Lena Schulhofer supplied eight digs, and Amber Peterson spiked four kills for The Meadows.

Lake Mead 3, Agassi Prep 1 — At Agassi Prep, Shannon Regan had 16 kills, seven assists, three digs and two blocks as the Eagles topped the Stars, 25-22, 25-17, 23-25, 25-16.

Colleen Zumaran had 11 kills, two aces and six digs, and Taylor Vetter added nine kills, 15 assists and two aces for Lake Mead. Tessa McQuillan added six kills and two digs, and Megan Watkins had five digs for the Eagles.

Briana Guillory had seven kills, seven digs and four blocks, and Shanice Allen supplied eight digs and seven kills for Agassi Prep. Corla White distributed 15 assists, and Brittany Williams had 10 digs for the Stars.

Pahranagat Valley 3, Lund 0 — At Alamo, Halie Lewis had 16 kills and seven aces, and teammate Kyla Mortenson had 14 kills and three aces as the Panthers secured the outright Class 1A Southern League title with a 25-7, 25-11, 25-6 win over the Mustangs.

Kimberly Lewis dished out 14 assists for Pahranagat Valley.

Tonopah 3, Round Mountain 0 — At Round Mountain, Elaina Dunn tallied 14 digs, seven kills, seven aces and three blocks, and Alli Friel provided six assists, six digs, six kills and two aces as the Muckers turned back the Knights, 25-10, 25-8, 25-7.

Elise Salsbury had 10 assists and five digs, and Julia Klapper supplied six digs and four aces for Tonopah.

Indian Springs 3, Sandy Valley 1 — At Indian Springs, Ashley Pierce had 14 aces, and teammate Heather Thormhalen had 40 assists as the Thunderbirds downed the Sidewinders, 25-9, 25-10, 23-25, 25-5.

Victoria Carpenter added nine kills, and Alexxa Reinke had eight kills for Indian Springs.
