ROUNDUP: Desert Oasis tops Spring Valley in girls volleyball

Auburn Smith had eight aces and 14 assists as Desert Oasis earned a 25-19, 25-18, 30-28 home win over Spring Valley in girls volleyball on Thursday.

Kelsey Motis added 11 kills and eight blocks for the Diamondbacks.

Lauren Perri had 14 assists for Spring Valley. Dominique Acevedo added four kills and seven digs for the Grizzlies.

Sierra Vista 3, Clark 0 — At Clark, Brooke Robinson had seven kills and Kelsey Stegall five aces and two kills to lead the Lions over the Chargers, 25-5, 25-16, 25-20.

Rocio Garcia had five kills for Clark.

Durango 3, Western 0 — At Western, Hayley Spelman had 24 kills and Morgan Malone 25 assists to lead the Trailblazers over the Warriors 25-16, 25-8, 25-12.

Jourdan Rowsell added six kills for Durango.

Michelle Simon had nine kills, Emily Reynada six digs and Megan Riggs 14 assists for Western.

Bishop Gorman 3, Bonanza 1 — At Bonanza, Dannielle Diamant had 10 blocks and seven kills as the Gaels rallied for a 20-25, 25-12, 25-21, 25-14 win.

Tristian Hall had seven kills for Bonanza.

Rancho 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Rancho, Sarah Arceneaux had 12 kills and Kayla Williams 29 assists as the Rams defeated the Jaguars, 25-14, 26-24, 25-22.

Aisha Momodu and Alexis Johnson each had eight kills for Rancho.

Eldorado 3, Chaparral 0 — At Eldorado, Sarah Childs had 17 kills as the Sundevils swept the Cowboys, 25-20, 25-21, 25-18.

Marissa Mousseau added 17 assists and three kills for Eldorado, and teammate Candace Keele chipped in six assists, two kills and two aces.

Jordan McGinness had 23 digs and two aces and Kylee Campos eight kills and three blocks for Chaparral.

Las Vegas 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Las Vegas, Ruth Wittig had 11 digs and six aces and Tiffany Jackson 20 assists and five digs to lead the Wildcats over the Pioneers, 25-11, 25-13, 25-15.

Breana Melton and Heather Ruesch each added six kills and three digs for Las Vegas.

Lake Mead 3, Laughlin 1 — At Laughlin, Ashley Newton had 14 kills, seven aces and seven digs to lead the Eagles to a 25-17, 22-25, 25-17, 25-15 victory over the Cougars.

Amanda Wellman added eight kills and five digs for Lake Mead, which also got 12 assists, 11 digs, four aces and two blocks from Jocelyn Cox.

Lake Mead’s Jessica Rinaldi chipped in 14 assists, six digs and two aces.
