Roundup: Gorman uses balanced team effort to top Legacy

Angelina Starck had eight kills and 12 assists, and Kylie Gibson added eight kills to lead Bishop Gorman’s girls volleyball team to a 25-15, 27-25, 25-15 road win over Legacy on Wednesday.

Tommi Stockham had six kills, and Ashley Brennan had five kills for the Gaels, who also got contributions from Sydney Lobato (18 assists) and Sarah Lychock (two aces and 10 digs).

Jazmyne Walker had eight kills and nine digs, and Myah Maxwell notched six kills and 12 digs for Legacy. Kamaile Mendonsa had 18 assists, and Alyssa Fuller had 15 digs for the Longhorns.

Arbor View 3, Cimarron-Memorial 2 — At Cimarron, Sarah Goddard had 19 kills, three aces and five digs, and Bailey Olbur added seven kills and five blocks in the Aggies’ 25-23, 26-24, 21-25, 23-25, 15-10 win over the Spartans.

Kylee Bonham had three kills and nine digs, and Alyson Jeeves notched 24 assists, one ace and four digs for Arbor View.

Natasha Obradovic had 10 kills, two aces and six digs, and Kiara Young had seven kills and three blocks to lead Cimarron. Destiny Garcia tallied 25 assists and two digs, and Andrea Aldaco had seven aces and five digs for the Spartans.

Centennial 3, Bonanza 0 — At Bonanza, Siara Roberts had 22 assists, five aces, four kills and two blocks to lead the Bulldogs to a sweep of the Bengals, 25-16, 25-16, 25-17.

Emily Anderson added six kills and five aces, and Anyese James-Kirkland had six kills and five blocks for Centennial.

Sydney Dunn led Bonanza with 16 assists, 13 digs and two blocks. Aja Johnson added seven kills and two aces, and Zhanna Colin had six kills and three aces for Bonanza.

Sierra Vista 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Sierra Vista, Zoey Kriethe supplied 11 assists to lead the Mountain Lions to a 25-10, 25-11, 25-17 sweep of the Diamondbacks.

Anica Kruyer and Alana Davis each added five kills for Sierra Vista.

Cheyenne 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Arabic McLaurin had 10 assists in the Desert Shields’ 25-17, 25-17, 25-4 sweep of the Pioneers.

Leerah Hunt supplied nine aces, and teammate Tia Echols added seven kills for Cheyenne.

Jeanette Fine and Mariah Hernandez each had four kills to pace Canyon Springs.

Palo Verde 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Palo Verde, Arien Fafard had 27 assists and three aces, and Elizabeth Gutierrez added 11 kills as the Panthers swept the Grizzlies, 25-11, 25-12, 25-14.

Gracen Hambrecht had seven kills, and Jacquelyn Fields notched six kills for Palo Verde.

Shadow Ridge 3, Clark 0 — At Clark, Madyson Lousignont had three kills and 11 aces to help the Mustangs defeat the Chargers, 25-1, 25-6, 25-5.

Megan Hoadley had 13 digs for Shadow Ridge.

Chaparral 3, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Alyssa Porras had five kills and seven assists in the Cowboys’ 27-25, 25-19, 25-21 win over the Dragons.

Alexandria Williams had five kills and a block for the Cowboys, and Bree’jahn Banks added four kills.

Genessa Galibut had three kills, five aces and six digs for the Dragons. Yaw Hope had 12 digs and two kills, and Saleena Quichocho had three aces and five digs for Del Sol.

Boulder City 3, Somerset-Sky Pointe 0 — At Boulder City, Maggie Roe had nine aces, 10 kills and 10 assists to power Boulder City over Somerset-Sky Pointe, 25-8, 25-17, 25-16.

Ava Wright had 18 assists and four aces for Boulder City, and teammate Reagan Herr added three blocks.

Moapa Valley 3, Virgin Valley 0 — At Overton, Aria Messer had 32 assists and four blocks, and Eden Whitmore tallied 18 kills and three aces to help the Pirates sweep the Bulldogs, 25-11, 25-14, 25-10.

Kessa Evans added 14 digs and three aces, and Dannika Gordon had 11 kills and three aces for Moapa Valley, which also got six kills from Shelbi Walker.

Taylor Barnum led Virgin Valley with 10 kills and 11 digs. Jessica Barnum had five kills, and Calee Clem added 16 assists for the Bulldogs.
