ROUNDUP: Hammel, Spellman power Bengals past Diamondbacks

Bree Hammel had nine kills and three blocks, and Sammie Spellman had nine kills and two blocks Thursday to help Bonanza’s girls volleyball team to a 25-21, 25-20, 25-16 home sweep of Desert Oasis.

Jessica Wilcox added nine kills, and Rykki Rudd had eight kills and five blocks for the Bengals.

Courtney Schuller led Desert Oasis with 15 assists and six digs, and teammate Kindra Stanfield added seven kills and five digs.

Legacy 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Legacy, Jessica Van Alfen supplied seven aces and six kills to lead the Longhorns to a 25-22, 25-19, 25-18 sweep of the Spartans.

Angela Foremaster dished out 10 assists, and Sarah Randolph added six kills for Legacy.

Erica Padilla had 11 assists, Toree Manumaleuna posted six kills, and Tamala Mathews put up five digs for Cimarron.

Pahrump Valley 3, Western 0 — At Western, Megan Hamrick posted three blocks, and Taylor McJunkin tallied five kills as the Trojans swept the Warriors, 25-20, 25-11, 25-17.

Sara Wulfenstein dished out five assists for Pahrump.

Carol Riggs posted 34 assists and four aces for Western. Brittany Moreland and Aleya Ford-Wheaton each recorded six kills and two blocks for the Warriors.

Clark 3, Durango 1 — At Clark, Katie Kelly dished out 37 assists to help the Chargers rally past the Trailblazers, 18-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-20.

Alexa Springs put down 17 kills, and Michelle Diamant added seven kills for Clark.

Sarah Tullis supplied 25 assists, Hailee Wilson posted 17 kills, and Mariah Fuentes put up 17 digs for Durango.

Centennial 3, Mojave 0 — At Centennial, Emma Hilsabeck posted nine assists and three digs, and Alex Johnson had eight kills and three assists as the Bulldogs wrapped up at least a share of the Northwest League title with a 25-6, 25-7, 25-9 sweep of the Rattlers.

Zoe Phillips served five aces, and Ashley Hill had three kills, three digs and three aces for Centennial, which got three kills and three aces from Talia Barnes.

Palo Verde 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Palo Verde, Melanie Georguiev spiked seven kills, and Conner Morrisey provided five assists and four kills as the Panthers blitzed the Desert Shields, 25-2, 25-11, 25-17.

Rachel Mez added five digs for Palo Verde.

Jenna Mecham had two kills, and Lorraine Moliga supplied two digs for Cheyenne.

Lake Mead 3, Calvary Chapel 2 — At Calvary Chapel, Megan Watkins laid down 22 digs, 11 assists and three aces, and Taylor Vetter added 16 digs, 12 assists, six aces and five kills as the Eagles outlasted the Lions, 25-19, 25-21, 21-25, 13-25, 15-12.

Colleen Zumaran had 20 digs and 11 kills, and Tessa McQuillan provided 11 digs and 10 kills for Lake Mead. Shannon Regan had seven kills, four blocks and two aces, and Shelbie Lewis added seven kills, four blocks and two aces for the Eagles.

Brettani Davis had 30 digs, seven aces and three kills, and Brooke Davis contributed 17 digs and 13 assists for Calvary Chapel. Athena Lewis added 24 digs, and Jamie Mejia had eight kills and four blocks for the Lions.

The Meadows 2-2, Agassi Prep 0-0 — At Agassi Prep, Alex Hall had six kills, six digs, four assists and two aces in the opener and eight kills, six digs, six assists and two aces in the nightcap as the Mustangs swept the Stars, 25-23, 25-11 and 25-14, 25-20.

In the first match, Lena Schulhofer had five aces and five digs, and Divya Ramakrishnan added eight assists and four aces for The Meadows, which got three kills, three aces and two blocks from Nikki Leonardson.

Ramakrishnan supplied 10 assists and three aces, and Leonardson had four kills and two blocks in the second match for the Mustangs, who got four kills from Casey Barber.
