ROUNDUP: Melton, Wildcats claim outright Northeast title

Breanna Melton collected nine kills, eight digs and five aces Monday as Las Vegas High’s girls volleyball team clinched sole possession of the Northeast League title with a 25-19, 25-13, 25-12 win at Rancho.
Natresha Bernard added 12 kills and three blocks, and Tiffany Jackson supplied 19 assists and six digs for the Wildcats (17-6, 13-0 Northeast).
Alex Padilla dished out eight assists, and Samantha Carino had three kills for Rancho.
Valley 3, Eldorado 0 — At Valley, Lenore Porter’s 17 assists, five kills and five aces helped the Vikings to a 25-23, 25-17, 25-16 sweep of the Sundevils.
Briana Johnson added seven kills and seven digs, and Jana Aquino contributed 10 digs and seven aces for Valley.
Chelsea Andersen distributed 11 assists for Eldorado, which got eight kills from Candace Watkins and six kills from Casey Bradshaw.
Sunrise Mountain 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Tiara Veal dished out 22 assists to go along with two aces to help the Miners to a 25-17, 25-14, 25-10 win over the Jaguars.
Alicia Winchester spiked 12 kills, and Elise Marshall chipped in six kills for Sunrise Mountain.
Karina De La Cruz paced the Jaguars with 19 digs, and Jazzmin Avalos added seven assists for Desert Pines.
Chaparral 3, Canyon Springs 2 — At Canyon Springs, JeNiece Morgan had 11 kills to lead the Cowboys to a 26-24, 25-21, 22-25, 22-25, 15-2 victory over the Pioneers.
Brittany Barkum led Canyon Springs with nine kills.
Coronado 3, Del Sol 0 — At Coronado, Sara Jones had 11 kills with just one hitting error to lead the Cougars to a 25-13, 25-12, 25-9 victory over the Dragons, wrapping up sole possession of first place in the Southeast League.
Coronado’s Katie Gamsky had 23 assists and eight digs, and teammate Kristen Herlosky supplied seven kills and eight digs.
Silverado 3, Foothill 0 — At Silverado, Kayla Agae recorded 21 digs, 11 kills and five aces, and Marilyn Agae added 18 assists as the Skyhawks topped the Falcons, 25-20, 25-14, 25-17.
Lauren Tegtmeier had 10 kills and six aces for Silverado.
Cheyann Bullard paced Foothill with 13 digs. Courtney Casem added eight digs and four kills, and Zoe Wolfenbarger chipped in seven digs and five kills for the Falcons.
Green Valley 3, Liberty 0 — At Green Valley, Jenna Swaffer dished out 18 assists and four aces to help the Gators to a 25-20, 25-14, 25-17 sweep of the Patriots.
Emma Johnson added 14 kills, and Caitlin Brickley put down nine kills for the Gators, who got seven digs from Kim Lavoie.
Amanda Delgado led Liberty with seven assists, six digs and five kills. Jannine Romeo added 10 digs, and Nicole Fredericks supplied seven digs and four kills for the Patriots.
Basic 3, Tech 0 — At Basic, Jackie Foust registered 11 kills and five blocks, and Wendy Williams and Brielle Wilke each dished out 11 assists as the Wolves swept the Roadrunners, 25-15, 25-15, 25-15.
Tara Patchett had 10 kills and three blocks for Basic.
Alevia Houston paced Tech with five kills and two blocks.
Beatty 3, Adelson School 0 — At Adelson School, the Hornets were 25-13, 25-20, 25-18 winners over the Lions.
Allie Barcani had six assists and two aces for Adelson, which got four kills from Elie Steinberg and three aces from Stephanie Castille.
