ROUNDUP: Miners win thriller over Dragons

Janae Yurek-Carhee had 15 kills and two aces Wednesday to help Sunrise Mountain’s girls volleyball team outlast visiting Del Sol, 25-14, 15-25, 25-17, 12-25, 15-13.

Alex Martinez had five kills and four aces, and Tania Amaya added three kills and five aces for the Miners, who also got three aces from Natalie Sharp.

Mojave 3, Desert Pines 2 — At Desert Pines, Courtney Rampolla had seven assists and five aces to help the Rattlers hold off the Jaguars, 26-24, 26-24, 21-25, 14-25, 15-3.

Pamela Martin added nine kills and four digs for Mojave.

Jazzmin Avalos paced Desert Pines with 16 digs, seven aces and seven assists. Cynthia Zack added 16 digs, and Melissa Benford had 12 kills for the Jaguars.

Eldorado 3, Valley 0 — At Valley, Angela Stoneback recorded 10 digs and six aces in the Sundevils’ 25-19, 25-7, 25-16 win over the Vikings.

Sarah Kanet added eight kills, and Alexis Vaquero had 12 digs and four aces for Eldorado.

Ma’Kayla Hicks had five kills to pace Valley.

Chaparral 3, Western 0 — At Western, Jaeda Allen had 16 kills and five aces to power the Cowboys to a 25-11, 25-10, 25-16 sweep of the Warriors.

Katie Oliveira dished out 27 assists, and Cheyenne Huntsman served 11 aces for Chaparral.

Sabrina Paulk led Western with three kills.

Arbor View 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Arbor View, Jenna McClure had 10 assists and seven aces, and Chrissy Blazek notched 10 digs as the Aggies beat the Pioneers 25-8, 25-10, 25-11.

Alex Porter had five digs and four kills, and Aislynn Hulet supplied three digs, two kills and two aces for Arbor View.
