Roundup: Mojave clinches Sunset League title with win over Del Sol

Chania Scott had 12 kills to help the Mojave’s girls volleyball team clinch the Sunset League’s top seed for the Class 3A Southern Region playoffs with a 25-8, 25-10, 25-20 home sweep of Del Sol.

Vany Carballo added 17 digs and three aces, and Aniya Marshall had seven kills, five aces and three digs for Mojave.

Genessa Galibut had nine digs and four aces, and Paige Birch added four kills for Del Sol. Julie Robles had seven digs, and Melody Isaia had two kills and three aces for the Dragons.

Chaparral 3, Sunrise Mountain 2 — At Sunrise Mountain, Bree’jahn Banks had 11 aces and four kills, and Maria Victoria Agao tallied 10 aces as the Cowboys staved off the Miners, 23-25, 25-12, 25-27, 25-11, 15-13.

Jaqueline Rosales added nine digs for Chaparral.

Destiny Chavez led Sunrise Mountain with nine assists, seven digs, four kills and three aces, and teammate Julia Miles supplied 10 kills and two aces.

Coronado 3, Desert Oasis 1 — At Desert Oasis, Sasha Bolla had 21 kills and five aces as the Cougars defeated the Diamondbacks, 25-14, 28-26, 27-25, 25-23.

Kennedi Steele added 10 kills, 15 digs and three aces, and Cassandra Smits-Van Oyen had 32 assists and eight digs for Coronado.

Paige Parlanti and Kierston-Joy Kuresa each had 13 kills and 12 digs for Desert Oasis. Paige Parlanti added nine kills and five blocks, and Ashlynn Tuss had six blocks for the Diamondbacks.

Boulder City 3, Sky Pointe 1 — At Boulder City, Ava Wright supplied 45 assists and 10 digs to power Boulder City past Sky Pointe, 21-25, 25-12, 25-10, 25-18.

Kamry Bailey had 13 kills and five aces, and teammates Raegan Herr and Setia Cox each added 11 kills for Boulder City. Rachel Krumm provided eight aces and five digs for Boulder City.

Katie Piet had 14 assists and four kills, Jocelyn Sanders notched seven kills, and Jayden Sanders contributed six kills to lead Sky Pointe. Kylie Poulsen had three aces for Sky Pointe.

Sierra Vista 3, Basic 0 — At Basic, Peyton Castillo dished out 20 assists as the Mountain Lions swept the Wolves, 25-14, 25-19, 25-19.

Leilani Vitale had 10 kills, and Caleyse Saunders added six digs and four kills for Sierra Vista.

Angelina Dean tallied eight digs and seven kills to pace Basic.

Green Valley 3, Foothill 0 — At Green Valley, Breanna Onori had 15 assists and eight digs, and Jennifer Soha had nine kills and three blocks as the Gators swept the Falcons, 25-22, 25-18, 25-16.

Blondie Penaflor added six kills and two blocks for Green Valley.

Kenzie Cornell notched 13 assists and four aces, and Bentley Hunt had 17 assists for Foothill. Kate Prior supplied seven kills and three blocks for the Falcons.

Silverado 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Spring Valley, Kristin Canlapan had 16 digs and seven aces to lead the Skyhawks to a 25-16, 25-11, 25-14 win over the Grizzlies.

Aubree Mateo had nine assists and six digs, and Jenna DeSellems added six kills for Silverado.

Simone Beane provided three kills, three aces, and three blocks to lead Spring Valley. Brooke Robinson had three kills and three blocks for the Grizzlies, and Vaden Mangler had three kills and two digs.

Liberty 3, Tech 0 — At Tech, Aiyana Evans supplied eight assists and six aces in the Patriots’ 25-18, 25-12, 25-15 sweep of the Roadrunners.

Alana Chun had seven digs, and Brooklyn Slater added six kills for Liberty.

Kaitlyn Harvey had eight digs to lead Tech, and Karis Fernandez had four kills and two digs for the Roadrunners.

Bishop Gorman 3, Clark 0 — At Gorman, Tommi Stockham had 12 aces, eight assists, and six digs, as the Gaels swept the Chargers, 25-6, 25-6, 25-5.

Caroline Edgeworth added 12 aces, eight assists, and six digs for Gorman.

Moapa Valley 3, Virgin Valley 0 — At Mesquite, Abbie Evans tallied 10 kills and three aces in the Pirates’ 25-14, 25-10, 26-24 sweep of the Bulldogs.

Emma Peay added six kills and four aces for Moapa Valley.

Pahrump Valley 3, Western 0 — At Pahrump, Jacquellen Stobbe supplied eight assists to help lead the Trojans to a 25-22, 25-21, 25-11 win over the Warriors.

Virginia Weir had six digs, and five aces, and Elaina Dattillio added six kills for Pahrump.

Camille Riggs led Western with 25 digs, nine blocks, and seven kills, and Adrianna Jones notched 15 digs and four kills for the Warriors.

Somerset-Losee 3, Democracy Prep 0 — At Somerset-Losee, Taylor Kelly had nine digs and seven aces, and Morgan Dowdy had six aces and four assists to help the Lions sweep the Blue Knights, 25-9, 26-24, 25-17.

Bella Pelupelu added eight assists, and Sabrina Wright and Bonnie Thiriot each added three kills for Somerset-Losee.

The Meadows 3, Calvary Chapel 0 — At The Meadows, the Mustangs swept the Lions.
