ROUNDUP: Newton, Lake Mead down Beatty
Ashley Newton had 17 kills and nine digs Saturday to help Lake Mead's girls volleyball team to a 25-14, 25-12, 25-14 win at Beatty.
Amanda Wellman added 12 digs and seven kills for the Eagles, who moved into a tie for first place with Pahranagat Valley in the Class 1A Southern League at 4-0.
Jocelyn Cox added 28 assists, seven aces and five digs for Lake Mead.
Lund 3, Sandy Valley 0 — At Sandy Valley, Lund swept the Sidewinders, 25-10, 25-7, 25-23.
Kiersten Huang had 10 digs and four assists for Sandy Valley. Vanesa Galeana added five digs and two aces, and Kenzi Smith had three kills for the Sidewinders.
