SMALL SCHOOLS: Barlow, Jeppson help Eagles capture 3A title

Whitney Barlow and Eliza Jeppsen had nine kills apiece to lead host Boulder City’s girls volleyball team to a 25-22, 25-23, 26-24 victory over Moapa Valley in the Class 3A Southern League final Friday.
Ali Rants added 32 digs and Avalon Frantz supplied 25 assists for the Eagles (28-7), who advanced to the state tournament.
Emma Eira had 10 kills for the Pirates (21-12).
Moapa Valley 3, Virgin Valley 1 — Eira had 13 kills, and Summer Owens supplied 11 digs as the Pirates advanced to the final with a 25-20, 20-25, 25-19, 25-19 win over the Bulldogs.
Nikki Arquette had 26 assists and 11 digs, and Heidi Lister contributed 15 kills and 13 digs for Virgin Valley (7-18).
CLASS 1A
Indian Springs 3, Round Mountain 0 — Victoria Carpenter spiked 12 kills, and Alexxa Reinke added 10 kills as the third-seeded Thunderbirds (12-7) stormed to a 25-12, 25-17, 25-2 win over the Knights (4-14) in the quarterfinals of the Class 1A Southern League Tournament at Sunrise Mountain.
Pahranagat Valley 3, Adelson School 0 — Kyla Mortensen registered eight kills and 10 aces, and Halie Lewis had 10 kills as the top-seeded Panthers (29-2) rolled to a 25-5, 25-8, 25-9 sweep of the Lions (6-13).
Kennedy Huntsman dished out 10 assists, and Kimberly Lewis had seven aces and seven assists for Pahranagat Valley, which will meet Lund (5-3) in a semifinal at 11:40 a.m. Saturday.
Tonopah 3, Sandy Valley 0 — Alli Friel compiled eight kills, six assists, three digs and two aces, and Elise Salsbury dished out 13 assists as the second-seeded Muckers posted a 25-11, 25-17, 25-16 win over the Sidewinders (3-11).
Elaina Dunn added 10 digs and five kills for Tonopah (24-10), which will face Indian Springs at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Lund 3, Beatty 0 — The Mustangs advanced with a 25-17, 25-21, 25-16 win over the Hornets (10-10).
