VOLLEYBALL: Cheval, Panthers top Gators in four sets

Kendall Cheval had 17 kills Tuesday to lead Palo Verde’s girls volleyball team to a 25-16, 25-17, 23-25, 25-14 victory over host Green Valley.

Kayla Kinney added 11 kills, and Faryn Duncan had 30 assists and 14 digs for the Panthers. Faryn Duncan added 21 digs for Palo Verde.

Rachel Klopfer paced the Gators with six kills and 11 digs, and teammate Taylor Lee had 14 digs.

Silverado 3, Durango 1 — At Silverado, Mackenzie Carter had 11 kills and 13 digs, and Sydney Berenyi added 12 kills as the Skyhawks beat the Trailblazers, 25-17, 25-19. 18-25, 25-21.

Cyrene Solomon added 28 assists and had 14 digs for Silverado.

Carly Taylor led Durango with 11 kills and 20 digs, and Gisselle Roldan added 10 kills and 20 digs for the Trailblazers.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Liberty 1 — At Cimarron, Logan DeLong had 25 assists, five aces and two digs as the Spartans defeated the Patriots, 25-23, 21-25, 25-12, 25-16.

Zaquae Downton added eight kills, and teammate Sharon Reyes had six digs for Cimarron.

Erika Martinez paced Liberty with 21 digs.

Basic 3, Boulder City 1 — At Boulder City, Kali Weires had six kills and eight digs to lead the Wolves to a 25-18, 25-18, 18-25, 25-15 victory over the Eagles.

Brooke Levengood added three kills, two blocks and 14 digs for Basic.

Maggie Roe led Boulder City with 10 kills and two blocks, and teammate Alyssa Ybarra had 15 digs.

Coronado 3, Las Vegas 0 — At Coronado, Cali Thompson had seven kills, 34 assists, three aces and four digs to lead the Cougars to a 25-7, 25-6, 25-15 win over the Wildcats.

Nikki Jackson had eight kills, and Berkeley Oblad added six kills, five aces, three digs and three blocks for Coronado.

Selena Rodriguez had eight digs for Las Vegas.

Shadow Ridge 3, Arbor View 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Ashley Smith had 14 kills and 13 digs to help the Mustangs cruise to a 25-15, 25-11, 25-8 victory over the Aggies.

Eadara Files helped Shadow Ridge with 28 assists and six digs, and teammate Chloe Gruwell added nine kills, six digs and five aces.

Hannah Goddard led Arbor View with six kills, four aces and three blocks.

Bonanza 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Bonanza, Claire Goodsell had 23 digs and five aces, and Hayley Huntsman added 24 assists and three aces to help the Bengals sweep the Pioneers, 25-11, 25-10, 25-15.

Sophie Cram added 13 kills and two blocks for Bonanza.

Estela Rodriguez and Andraya Diaz-Conklin each had two digs for Canyon Springs.

Centennial 3, Legacy 0 — At Centennial, Talie Bonds had five kills, five digs and three blocks, and Kjersten Saunders added four kills, three aces and 11 digs to help the Bulldogs to a 25-17, 25-19, 25-16 sweep of the Longhorns.

Deven Vieira had five kills and three blocks, and Kanani Lasike added five blocks for Centennial.

Saipeti Fuiava had 16 assists and three blocks for Legacy, and teammate Hannah Bennett supplied four kills and two blocks.

Desert Oasis 3, Valley 0 — At Valley, Lauren Rios had three kills, seven aces and two digs to lead the Diamondbacks over the Vikings, 25-20, 25-13, 25-13.

Hennessy Seumalu recorded four kills and three blocks for Desert Oasis, and teammate Ariel Blockovich added one kill, two aces, seven digs and 26 assists.

Valley’s Brittanie Jordan had three kills, two blocks and two digs, and Corinne Burton added one ace, three kills, three assists and four blocks for the Vikings, which got eight digs from Patricia Choi and eight assists, five digs and one ace from JeCori Gladney.

White Pine 2-2, Lake Mead 1-0 — At Lake Mead, the Bobcats won a pair of matches against the Eagles, 26-28, 25-20, 15-13 and 25-13, 25-11.

Lake Mead’s Allee Butz had four kills and 13 digs, and teammate Alayna McNamara had two kills, four aces and eight digs in the opening match for Lake Mead.

Indian Springs 3, Agassi Prep 1 — At Indian Springs, the Thunderbirds beat the Stars, 25-20, 25-18, 21-25, 25-16.
