VOLLEYBALL: Grizzlies roll to sweep of Mountain Lions

Nicole Rafay had nine kills Tuesday to lead Spring Valley’s girls volleyball team to a 25-19, 25-23, 25-20 win at Sierra Vista.

Jessica Rafay, Casey Van Hoose and Rachel Milam each added six kills for the Grizzlies, who got four aces and nine digs from Hannah Karas.

Sydney Land led the Mountain Lions with 11 kills.

Palo Verde 3, Durango 0 — At Palo Verde, Stephanie Herman had seven aces, 23 assists and three blocks as the Panthers topped the Trailblazers, 25-14, 25-16, 25-21.

Kendall Cheval had seven kills and six digs, and Jenna Bobroski had 16 digs for Palo Verde.

Trea Ortega led Durango with 12 kills and 11 digs. Carly Taylor supplied 19 kills and four digs, and Precious Williams had five kills and four digs for the Trailblazers.

Foothill 3, Del Sol 0 — At Foothill, Christina Beaver had 33 assists, and Indoneisha Struve had eight kills to lead the Falcons in a 25-11, 25-5, 25-10 victory over the Dragons.

Nicolette White added seven kills for Foothill.

Azhwalaee Oliver had 32 digs, three digs and two aces, and Sierra Morales had 22 digs for Del Sol.

Shadow Ridge 3, Arbor View 0 — At Arbor View, Ashley Smith had 14 kills, 12 digs and three aces to lead the Mustangs to a 25-19, 25-13, 25-18 win over the Aggies.

Easton Clements added nine kills and two blocks, and Olivia Denny had 20 assists for Shadow Ridge.

Jenna McClure led Arbor View with 16 assists and two aces.

Chaparral 3, Virgin Valley 0 — At Chaparral, Hannah Kirschbaum had 12 kills and two blocks, and Ale Macias dished out 22 assists as the Cowboys swept the Bulldogs, 25-21, 25-10, 26-24.

Anais Servis had 10 digs and four kills for Chaparral.

Basic 3, Eldorado 0 — At Basic, Kawena Sheehan served nine aces, and Kali Weires put down six kills to lead the Wolves to a 25-13, 25-10, 25-12 sweep over the Sundevils.

Kelsey Griffin had eight digs, and Angela Stonebeck contributed five digs and three kills for Eldorado.

Coronado 3, Liberty 0 — At Coronado, Cali Thompson had 25 assists and six digs as the Cougars rolled to a 25-3, 25-10, 25-10 victory over the Patriots.

Taylor Jackson had 11 kills, and Carolyn Andrulis added four kills and six aces for Coronado.

Boulder City 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Boulder City, Whitney Barlow had 17 kills, and Alyssa Ybarra added seven aces and 26 digs as the Eagles swept the Miners, 25-16, 25-11, 25-16.

Kaylin Koltyerhan added six digs for Boulder City.

Desert Pines 3, Tech 0 — At Tech, the Jaguars rolled to a 25-14, 25-23, 25-14 of the Roadrunners.

Kathy Hernandez had five kills and two aces, and Haylee Holsclaw had four kills for Tech.

Indian Springs 3, Adelson School 2 — At Adelson, the Thunderbirds edged the Lions, 11-25, 25-23, 16-25, 25-5, 15-6.

Mackenzie Lally had six kills, and Tamar Tecktiel served eight aces for Adelson School, which got six digs from Martina Pelmore.
