VOLLEYBALL: Nikodemus, Crusaders sweep Mountain Lions

Cayla Nikodemus had 14 kills and five digs Tuesday to help Faith Lutheran’s girls volleyball team to a 25-23, 25-23, 25-19 win over visiting Sierra Vista.

Megan Kronschnabel had 29 assists for the Crusaders, and teammate Bobbi Tharaldson added six digs and two aces.

Kira Felise had 28 assists and 13 digs to lead the Mountain Lions, and teammate Bridgette Levi had 11 digs and four kills.

Basic 3, Calvary Chapel 1 — At Basic, Azure Werner had 13 kills, 16 digs and three aces as the Wolves beat the Lions, 25-17, 25-23, 15-25, 25-16.

Brooke Levengood added 14 kills and 18 digs, and Autumn Philipczyk had four kills for Basic.

Alexis Harris had 11 kills and 10 digs to lead Calvary Chapel. Alexis Davis added 14 digs, and Kayla Johnson had 12 assists for the Lions.

Cheyenne 3, Mojave 2 — At Mojave, the Desert Shields rallied for an 18-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-20, 15-8 win over the Rattlers.

Mojave’s Leilani Limtiaco had 14 kills and six digs, and RayEna Rael added 35 assists and 11 digs for the Rattlers, who got nine kills and three blocks from Shyanne Orton.

Shadow Ridge 3, Bonanza 0 — At Bonanza, Easton Clements recorded seven kills, four blocks and three aces to lead the Mustangs to a 25-10, 25-20, 25-23 sweep of the Bengals.

Caitlin Pascal had four aces and 15 digs, and teammate Eadara Files added 28 assists and five digs for Shadow Ridge.

Taryn Warner had four kills and two blocks, and Hayley Huntsman added 19 assists and six digs for Bonanza, which got 22 digs from Claire Goodsell.

Palo Verde 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Desert Oasis, Kendall Cheval had 15 kills and six digs to lead the Panthers to a 25-17, 25-18, 25-16 win over the Diamondbacks.

Makenzie Paulk dished out 27 assists, and Kallie Koch recorded seven kills for Palo Verde.

Desert Oasis’ Kaylee Burkhiser had six kills and seven digs, and teammate Taylor Brock added five kills and two digs. Ariel Blockovich recorded 16 assists and five digs, and Hennessy Seumalu contributed four kills for the Diamondbacks.

Spring Valley 3, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Spring Valley, Casey Van Hoose had nine kills to lead the Grizzlies to a 25-17, 25-18, 25-19 win over the Trojans.

Courtney Lance added eight kills for Spring Valley, and teammate Hannah Karas had 20 digs.

Silverado 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Silverado, Cyrene Solomon dished out 20 assists, and D’Kota Hinton-Louis tallied 10 kills and four blocks as the Skyhawks swept the Spartans 25-10, 25-19, 25-12.

Mackenzie Carter added eight kills for Silverado.

Logan DeLong had 11 assists, and Breeana DeCoud added six kills for Cimarron.

Clark 3, Western 0 — At Western, Shyanne Carter-Wade had eight kills, and Angel Jamerson added 15 assists to help the Chargers to a 25-23, 25-12, 25-21 sweep of the Warriors.

Clark’s Alice Afualo recorded four kills and four aces.

Western’s Destiny Gonzalez had three kills, and teammates Ada Alfaro and Nicole Riggs added two aces apiece.

Pahranagat Valley 3, Mountain View 0 — At Alamo, Karley Whipple had 10 kills, two aces and four digs to help the Panthers to a 25-11, 25-15, 25-5 sweep of the Saints.

Allyse Frehner dished out 23 assists, and Jamie Hansen had seven digs and five aces for Pahranagat Valley. Brook Higbee had 15 digs, and Madison Harris added five kills for the Panthers.

Lake Mead 2-0, The Meadows 1-2 — At The Meadows, Dani Otter had nine kills and four aces to help the Mustangs salvage the second match of the doubleheader, 25-10, 25-13.

Brooke Brennan added four kills and 15 digs, and Alex Rimoldi had five kills for the Mustangs in the nightcap.

Lake Mead took the first match, 14-25, 25-22, 16-14.

Otter had 11 kills and six digs, and Brennan supplied three kills and 16 digs in the first match for The Meadows, which also got 10 digs each from Missy Siegel and Amanda Hansen.

Sandy Valley 3, Word of Life 0 — At Sandy Valley, the Sidewinders swept the Eagles, 25-13, 25-15, 25-15.
