VOLLEYBALL: Panthers rally for home victory over Mustangs

Kendall Cheval had 13 kills and 14 digs, and Stephanie Herman supplied 43 assists, seven digs and two blocks Monday to help Palo Verde’s girls volleyball team rally for a 23-25, 25-19, 17-25, 25-14, 15-8 win over visiting Shadow Ridge.

McCall Phillips had 15 kills, nine digs and two blocks, and Lexi Riggs added 10 kills for the Panthers, who got 21 digs and two aces from Faryn Duncan.

Ashley Smith paced the Mustangs with 28 kills, 15 digs, four aces and three blocks, and teammate Olivia Denny had 40 assists, 12 digs and two aces.

Arbor View 3, Spring Valley 2 — At Spring Valley, Tamani Simmons had 13 kills and two aces, and Hannah Goddard added 12 kills and six aces as the Aggies rallied from a two-set hole to defeat the Grizzlies, 22-25, 23-25, 27-25, 25-21, 15-10.

Jenna McClure chipped in with 36 assists, and Alex Porter had eight kills for Arbor View.

Rachel Milam led Spring Valley with 12 kills, seven digs and four aces. Nicole Rafay added 11 kills and six digs, Jessica Rafay had nine kills, and Casey Van Hoose had six kills for the Grizzlies, who also got 14 digs from Hannah Karas.

Durango 3, Sierra Vista 1 — At Sierra Vista, Precious Williams recorded 12 kills, 15 digs and three aces to lead the Trailblazers in a 20-25, 25-12, 25-16, 25-23 victory over the Mountain Lions.

Trea Ortega notched 13 kills, 11 digs and two aces, and Carly Taylor had 25 assists for Durango, which got five kills and four blocks Kat Jaksic.

Bailey Bergquist had 10 kills and 15 digs, and Emily Feigler chipped in nine kills and five digs for Sierra Vista.

Boulder City 3, Chaparral 1 — At Boulder City, Whitney Barlow had 21 kills and three aces to lead the Eagles over the Cowboys, 26-28, 25-12, 26-24, 25-14.

Kendall Miller added 27 assists and two kills, and teammate Lauren Pocius had four kills and five blocks for Boulder City.

Basic 3, Liberty 1 — At Liberty, Christina Kelley had 32 assists and three aces to help the Wolves to a 25-21, 25-15, 22-25, 25-20 win over the Patriots.

Kim Austin added nine kills, and Kyla Bohannon had eight kills and 12 digs for Basic.

Liberty's Rosa Allen had eight kills and two blocks, and teammate Reid Morgavi had six kills.

Coronado 3, Del Sol 0 — At Coronado, Cali Thompson had four kills, 17 assists and seven aces to help the Cougars to a 25-7, 25-12, 25-9 sweep of the Dragons.

Brooke Garlick added five kills, four aces and two digs, and Nikki Jackson had six kills for Coronado.

Foothill 3, Eldorado 0 — At Foothill, Korina Bush had 10 digs and seven aces to lead the Falcons over Eldorado, 25-8, 25-8, 25-8.

Sarah Dusenbury added seven kills and four digs, and Nicolette White also had seven kills and three digs for Foothill.

Sunrise Mountain 3, Virgin Valley 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Evelyn Lopez had three kills, two digs, 11 assists and seven aces to lead the Miners in a 25-22, 25-23, 25-9 win over the Bulldogs.

Rebecca Ramirez added six digs for Sunrise Mountain.

Moapa Valley 3, Tech 0 — At Moapa Valley, Bailey Owens had 14 kills, and Alex Peterson added three aces and four kills to lead the Pirates in a 25-13, 25-20, 25-17 win over the Roadrunners.

Emily Mills notched 25 assists, and Makenzie Bush had nine kills for the Pirates.

Christine Sweet had five kills, and Haylee Holsclaw supplied four kills for Tech.

Cheyenne 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Cheyenne, Ebony Cavaco had three aces, four kills and 11 assists to help the Desert Shields top the Jaguars, 25-19, 25-17, 26-24.

Endia Mack had three aces and five kills, and Bria Buchanan added eight kills for Cheyenne.

Mountain View 3, Adelson School 0 — At Mountain View, Lindsay Kessler had seven kills to help the Saints down the Lions, 25-8, 25-14, 25-10.

Aariel Armstrong added five kills, and Megan Mitchum had six aces for Saints.

Liberty Baptist 3, Beaver Dam (Ariz.) 1 — At Mirabelli Community Center, the Eagles collected a 25-12, 27-25, 22-25, 25-22 win over the Diamondbacks.
