VOLLEYBALL: Patriots top Wildcats in hard-fought match

Roza Allen had 15 kills, seven blocks and six aces, and Lisa Tauala added 13 kills and nine blocks Thursday as Liberty’s girls volleyball team outlasted visiting Las Vegas, 28-26, 25-13, 22-25, 19-25, 15-11.

Tiffany Watkins notched 12 kills, six blocks and three aces, and Morgan Husli added 45 assists, 13 digs and seven aces for the Patriots, who also got 26 digs, seven assists and three aces from Erika Martinez. Alex Farnsworth had six kills and 18 digs for Liberty.

Las Vegas’ Tajanae Davis had 13 kills and two blocks, and teammate Samantha Remer recorded 10 kills, 19 digs and three aces. Lexia Brockett had 33 assists, 16 digs and four aces for the Wildcats.

Centennial 3, Bonanza 2 — At Bonanza, Talie Bonds had 11 kills, 12 assists, nine digs and seven blocks as the Bulldogs outlasted the Bengals, 25-18, 21-25, 14-25, 26-24, 15-10.

Emily Anderson had six kills, three aces and 19 digs, and Adrianna Galtieri had 20 digs for Centennial, which got six kills from Deven Vieira.

Sophie Cram had 24 kills, and Hayley Huntsman had 44 assists for Bonanza. Claire Goodsell had 44 digs, and Jaycie Johnson had seven kills for the Bengals.

Spring Valley 3, Mojave 1 — At Spring Valley, Danielle Amonica had eight kills, 14 assists and five aces as the Grizzlies downed the Rattlers, 21-25, 25-20, 25-5, 25-13.

Jessica Rafay had nine kills and 13 assists, and Hannah Karas added 17 digs for Spring Valley.

RayEna Rael had four kills, 24 assists and eight digs, and Shyanne Orton added seven kills and four blocks for Mojave.

Valley 3, Canyon Springs 1 — At Canyon Springs, Brittanie Jordan had nine kills and three blocks and to lead the Vikings past the Pioneers, 25-16, 27-25, 25-20, 25-21.

JeCori Gladney recorded six kills, six digs and 12 assists, and Corinne Burton added five kills, 10 assists and two digs for Valley. Patricia Choi supplied 10 digs for the Vikings.

Taylor Duke had six kills, and Karina Cavada added four aces for Canyon Springs. Meelani Calleros had four blocks for the Pioneers.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Desert Oasis 1 — At Cimarron, Zaquae Downton had 11 kills and 13 digs to help the Spartans to a 15-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-15 win over the Diamondbacks.

Logan DeLong had 17 assists and 12 digs, and Sharon Reyes added nine digs for Cimarron.

Ariel Blockovich had six kills and 26 assists, and Kaylee Burkheiser added seven kills for Desert Oasis, which got six kills and two blocks from Kaia Rhodes.

Durango 3, Green Valley 1 — At Green Valley, Carly Taylor had 14 kills and 15 digs to lead the Trailblazers to a 25-20, 18-25, 25-23, 25-17 win over the Gators.

Sabrina Close recorded 23 assists, 13 digs and three aces for Durango, and teammate Jordan Myers added 12 digs.

Green Valley’s Carlee Becker had four kills, 15 digs and 31 assists.

Sierra Vista 3, Western 1 — At Western, the Mountain Lions topped the Warriors, 25-20, 25-16, 20-25, 25-18.

Western’s Destiny Gonzalez had 12 kills and four aces, and teammate Ada Alfaro added 20 assists.

Pahrump Valley 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, Alexis Trieb had eight kills to help the Trojans to a 27-25, 25-23, 25-17 victory over the Desert Shields.

Shayla Dance notched five kills, and Jill Smith added 10 assists for Pahrump, which also got 11 digs from Lauren Ashford.

Eldorado 3, Tech 0 — At Eldorado, Tori Stark had 15 kills, and Abigail Olsen dished out 32 assists to lead the Sundevils by the Roadrunners, 25-17, 26-24, 25-18.

Anya Olsen had 23 digs and four aces, and Hailey Stark added seven digs for Eldorado.

Faith Lutheran 3, Clark 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Cayla Nikodemus’ 19 kills gave the Crusaders a 25-11, 25-6, 25-5 sweep of the Chargers.

Megan Kronschnabel had 33 assists and two aces for Faith Lutheran, which got five kills from Jordyn Dunseath.

Lake Mead 3, Calvary Chapel 1 — At Calvary Chapel, Rachael Watkins had 20 assists and four aces to help the Eagles to a 25-18, 25-14, 13-25, 25-22 win over the Lions.

Natalie Jankowski had nine kills, and Allee Butz added four kills and three aces for Lake Mead, which got three kills and three aces from Jenette Hensley.

Marissa Tiemann had 11 kills and four blocks, and Malia Lee had eight kills and three blocks for Calvary Chapel. Mariah Martin dished out 13 assists for the Lions.

Lincoln County 2-2, The Meadows 0-1 — At Panaca, the Lynx swept the Mustangs, 25-19, 25-20 in the first match and 25-18, 18-25, 16-14 in the second.

Kayla Mathews had three kills, four aces and a block in the first match and eight kills, three aces and two digs in the second match for Lincoln County. Teammate Chesnee Harding added six aces and three assists in the opener and 13 assists, two aces and three digs in the nightcap.

Cameron Lloyd totaled four aces and five digs for the Lynx.

Brooke Brennan had five kills, five digs and two aces in the opener, and 10 kills, 10 digs and two blocks in the nightcap for The Meadows. Missy Siegel added 11 assists, four digs and two aces in the first match, and 16 assists and eight digs in the finale for the Mustangs.

Sandy Valley 3, Indian Springs 2 — At Sandy Valley, Jacinda Fansher had 17 kills, eight assists and five aces as the Sidewinders rallied for a 21-25, 25-18, 16-25, 25-15, 16-14 win over the Thunderbirds.

Emily Valko added nine kills and 11 aces, and Esmerelda Solano-Sanchez had six kills and six aces for Sandy Valley, which got seven assists from Lauren Cripe.
