VOLLEYBALL: Phillips, Panthers sweep Gators

McCall Phillips had 14 kills and 18 digs Tuesday to help Palo Verde’s girls volleyball team to a 25-18, 25-21, 26-24 sweep of visiting Green Valley.

Stephanie Herman added 32 assists and 10 digs, and Faryn Duncan supplied 34 digs for the Panthers, who got seven kills and 16 digs from Kendall Cheval.

Nikki Drost had 12 kills for the Gators.

Las Vegas 3, Sierra Vista 2 — At Sierra Vista, Matti Ventling had 35 assists, eight kills and five aces, and Shaleea Butler provided 17 digs, 10 kills and four aces as the Wildcats rallied to beat the Mountain Lions, 18-25, 19-25, 25-20, 26-24, 15-11.

Charlai Francis had 15 kills and 12 blocks, and Cierra Turner supplied 21 digs for Las Vegas.

Maeganne Cabias had 35 digs and three aces, and Bailey Bergquist had 11 kills and three aces for Sierra Vista.

Shadow Ridge 3, Centennial 1 — At Centennial, Ashley Smith had 36 kills, 16 digs and three blocks to lead the Mustangs to a 26-24, 25-21, 18-25, 25-20 victory over the Bulldogs.

Olivia Denny helped Shadow Ridge with 44 assists and nine digs, and teammate Kelsey Rodman added 30 digs.

Kristi Farley led Centennial with 34 assists and two aces. Nani Padilla-Perez added 12 kills and two aces, and Cristina Owens had eight kills and four blocks for the Bulldogs.

Spring Valley 3, Rancho 2 — At Rancho, Courtney Lance had eight blocks, and Nicole Rafay had eight kills as the Grizzlies rallied to top the Rams, 20-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-21, 15-3.

Jessica Rafay added six kills for Spring Valley, which got 10 digs from Hannah Karas.

Danielle Carino led Rancho with 10 kills, 15 digs and three aces. Sharisse Nagatori added 17 assists and seven digs, and Jordan Williams had five kills and five blocks for the Rams.

Bishop Gorman 3, Foothill 0 — At Foothill, Emma Filosi had 17 assists, and Shelly Layman notched eight digs and three aces as the Gaels swept the Falcons 25-17, 25-23, 25-20.

Leah Lychock had eight kills, and Gianna Ruggeroli supplied seven kills for Gorman.

Christina Beaver had 21 assists and six digs, Sarah Dusenbury had 13 digs and seven kills, and Olivia Stet tallied 13 digs and six kills for Foothill, which also got nine kills from Nicolette White.

Silverado 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Silverado, Shyanne Borchers had 20 assists to help the Skyhawks beat the Spartans, 25-20, 25-22, 25-8.

Quinntana Reid had nine aces and seven digs to help Silverado, and teammate Lauren Purdy added six digs, six aces, five blocks and two kills.

Priscilla Bennett had seven assists, and Emily Bennett added three kills and six digs for Cimarron.

Coronado 3, Legacy 0 — At Coronado, Berkeley Oblad had five kills, four aces and four blocks to help the Cougars to a 25-6, 25-8, 25-23 sweep of the Longhorns.

Carolyn Andrulis had four kills, two aces and seven digs, and Cali Thompson supplied 27 assists for Coronado, which got six aces from Nikki Jackson.

Saipeti Fuiava had five kills and six digs, and Ashly Goor added four kills and three digs for Legacy.

Boulder City 3, Basic 2 — At Basic, Whitney Barlow had 31 kills, and Kendall Miller dished out 46 assists as the Eagles outlasted the Wolves, 21-25, 25-13, 25-23, 21-25, 15-13.

Jaden Wood added eight kills and five aces, and Kinsey Smith had four kills and five blocks for Boulder City, which got 32 digs and three aces from Alyssa Ybarra.

Linsie Udall led Basic with 29 assists and 15 digs. Autumn Philipczyk had nine kills and two blocks, and Kali Weires supplied 10 kills for Basic.

Chaparral 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Hannah Kirschbaum had six aces and five kills, and Carminda Greenstone added four aces and four kills as the Cowboys swept the Jaguars 25-15, 25-13, 25-8.

Alejandra Macias had four aces, two kills and two digs for Chaparral.

Melissa Benford had three digs and two kills for Desert Pines.

Clark 3, Del Sol 0 — At Clark, Emi Atanoa had 11 kills as the Chargers downed the Dragons, 25-14, 25-18, 25-9.

Angel Jamerson had 14 assists, and June Roberts had nine aces and three kills for Clark.

Moapa Valley 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Overton, Makenzie Bush had 11 kills to lead the Pirates to a 25-18, 25-21, 25-17 sweep of the Miners.

Bailey Owens added nine kills, and Cheyenne Leavitt served five aces for Moapa Valley.

Virgin Valley 3, Tech 0 — At Tech, Bernice Fiso had seven kills and two blocks, and Janella Fiso served 16 aces to help the Bulldogs roll to a 25-18, 25-12, 25-9 win over the Roadrunners.

Kirston Tanner had five aces and three kills for Virgin Valley.

Haylee Holsclaw led Tech with three kills and two aces.

Pahrump Valley 3, Beatty 0 — At Pahrump, Payton Hart had six kills to help the Trojans sweep the Hornets, 25-21, 25-24, 25-12.

Jillian Smith (10 assists, two aces), Bryana Soliwoda (six assists) and Lauren Koenig (four kills) also contributed for Pahrump.

Christine Thompson had seven assists, and Claudia Granados added five kills for Beatty.

Calvary Chapel 3, Laughlin 0 — At Calvary Chapel, Brooke Davis had 16 assists and three aces to help the Lions beat the Cougars, 25-9, 25-6, 25-3.

Athena Lewis added 10 aces, and Deja Harris had eight kills and two aces for Calvary Chapel, which got nine kills from Alexis Harris.

Lake Mead 2-2, Mountain View 1-0 — At Lake Mead, Rachael Watkins had 15 assists and two aces in the opener and 12 assists and five digs in the nightcap as the Eagles swept the Saints, 24-26, 25-16, 15-7 and 25-16, 25-17.

In the opener, Taylor Webb had five kills, four aces and 10 digs, and Shannon Regan added seven kills for Lake Mead.

Regan had five kills, four aces and five digs, and Taylor Webb supplied four kills and 12 digs in the nightcap for the Eagles, who also got 11 digs from Jenette Hensley.

Pahranagat Valley 3, White Pine 0 — At Alamo, Traci Strong had 14 kills, 14 digs and five aces to help the Panthers to a 25-12, 26-24, 26-24 sweep of the Bobcats.

Bailee Hosier added 29 digs and 11 kills, and Kennedy Huntsman had 20 assists and four aces for Pahranagat Valley, which got 16 digs from Brook Higbee.

Sandy Valley 3, Adelson School 0 — At Sandy Valley, the Sidewinders defeated the Lions, 25-4, 25-18, 25-20.
