VOLLEYBALL: Trailblazers dig out of early hole, top Grizzlies

Carly Taylor had 18 kills and 19 digs Tuesday to lead Durango’s girls volleyball team to a 22-25, 25-15, 26-24, 25-13 victory over host Spring Valley.

Cayla Cooper dished out 39 assists, and Sabrina Close supplied 16 digs for the Trailblazers.

Spring Valley’s Jessica Rafay provided 11 kills and nine assists, and teammate Danielle Amonica had 15 assists and five kills.

Hannah Karas added 12 kills for the Grizzlies, who also got eight digs from Nicole Feno.

Coronado 3, Palo Verde 0 — At Palo Verde, Cali Thompson had 45 assists, two aces and two kills to lead the Cougars past the Panthers, 25-15, 26-24, 25-19.

Berkeley Oblad (12 kills, three blocks), Emily Bender (11 digs, 10 kills, two aces) and Sabrina Lyen (19 digs) also contributed for Coronado.

Faryn Duncan and Hayley Smith had 15 digs apiece to lead Palo Verde, which got seven kills from Kendall Cheval.

Foothill 3, Las Vegas 0 — At Las Vegas, Christina Beaver had 36 assists and four aces, and Olivia Stet added eight kills, four digs, two blocks and two aces as the Falcons swept the Wildcats, 25-10, 25-17, 25-15.

Rebecca Hill had eight kills and three digs, and Tessa Michalosky supplied seven kills for Foothill.

Samantha Remer led Las Vegas with 11 kills and 11 digs.

Green Valley 3, Centennial 0 — At Centennial, Carlee Becker had 25 assists, 14 digs and four aces, and Julia Carlson added 15 kills and two blocks to help the Gators sweep the Bulldogs, 25-16, 25-17, 25-19.

Emily Flowers supplied 13 digs and four kills for Green Valley.

Bailey Anderson led Centennial with 10 kills, five digs and three aces, and teammate Talie Bonds added 12 digs and six kills. Alyssa Lucas supplied nine digs, and Kanani Lisike had six blocks for the Bulldogs.

Shadow Ridge 3, Rancho 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Ashley Smith had 13 kills and five aces to lead the Mustangs past the Rams, 25-12, 25-12, 25-13.

Caitlin Pascal helped Shadow Ridge with 27 digs, and teammate Chloe Gruwell added 11 digs and nine kills.

Danielle Carino had four digs and four kills for Rancho, and teammate Kayla Coles had five digs.

Basic 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Christina Kelly has 10 assists and six aces to propel the Wolves to a 25-9, 25-17, 25-13 win over the Pioneers.

Kim Austin had 13 kills, and Haley Atkins supplied eight digs for Basic.

Moapa Valley 3, Tech 0 — At Overton, Cheyenne Leavitt provided 13 digs and five kills to lead the Pirates to a 25-14, 25-12, 25-13 sweep of the Roadrunners.

Marissa Perez had 14 kills, and Summer Evans supplied nine digs for Moapa Valley.

Samantha Backman led Tech with 10 assists.

Del Sol 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Del Sol, Azhwalaee Oliver had 16 digs, nine kills and two blocks to lead the Dragons to a 25-23, 25-17, 25-19 victory over the Miners.

Christy Patinio added 16 digs, and Christina Lancaster and Nicki Zuniga each added three aces for Del Sol.

Silverado 3, Eldorado 0 — At Silverado, Cyrene Solomon had 22 assists, and Mackenzie Carter notched eight kills as the Skyhawks downed the Sundevils, 25-10, 25-20, 25-15.

Sydney Berenyi added five kills and three digs for Silverado.

Abigail Olsen had nine assists and four aces, and Kiana Parkes tallied 12 digs for Eldorado, which also got five kills from Tori Stark.

Boulder City 3, Virgin Valley 0 — At Boulder City, Jaden Wood had 12 kills and four aces to help the Eagles roll to a 25-19, 26-24, 25-12 win over the Bulldogs.

Maggie Rowe added five kills and five blocks for Boulder City, and teammate Samantha Hanson had seven aces and four kills.

Janella Fiso had five aces for Virgin Valley, and teammate Kaydee Bingham had four kills.

Chaparral 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Chaparral, Moriah Allen had five kills and nine aces to lead the Cowboys to a 25-6, 25-10, 25-22 victory over the Jaguars.

Abigail Delgado added five aces for Chaparral, and Monique Long had 10 digs for the Cowboys.

Lincoln County 2-2, Lake Mead 0-0 — At Lake Mead, Chesnee Harding recorded seven assists, six digs, three kills and two aces, and Easton Tingey had eight assists, three kills and two blocks as the Lynx beat the Eagles, 25-13, 25-22 in the opener.

Kayla Matthews provided three kills, three aces and two blocks, and Cameron Lloyd had five kills and four aces for Lincoln County.

In the second match, Harding had 13 assists, four digs and two aces, and Matthews notched six kills and two digs in a 25-23, 25-20 Lincoln County win.

Tingey had three kills and three assists, Hannah Hafen added three kills and three digs, and Bridon Lewis supplied three kills and two blocks for the Lynx.

Allee Butz paced Lake Mead with a total of seven kills and six aces in the two matches. Jillian Morejon added 12 digs, and teammate Jenette Hensley had nine digs and four kills for the Eagles.

Basic 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, the Wolves swept the Pioneers, 25-9, 25-17, 25-13.

Beaver Dam 3, Liberty Baptist 1 — At Liberty Baptist, the Diamondbacks rallied to top the Eagles, 24-26, 25-21, 25-17, 25-14.

Indian Springs 3, Word of Life 0 — At Indian Springs, the Thunderbirds swept the Eagles, 25-15, 25-21, 25-16.

Sandy Valley 3, Adelson School 1 — At Sandy Valley, the Sidewinders were 25-14, 22-25, 25-8, 25-12 winners over the Lions.
