2018-19 Desert Pines Wrestling Capsule

DESERT PINES

Head coach: Sean McNulty, third season

Returning lettermen: Ten

Top wrestlers: Xavier Gonzalez (Sr.), Daniel Carbajal (Jr.), Elijah Wade (Jr.)

Outlook: Wade, who likely will compete at 220 pounds again this season, finished third at 220 in last year’s Class 3A state meet.

Gonzalez (120) and Carbajal (126) also advanced to the state meet and are among a group of 10 returning lettermen for the Jaguars.

“Desert Pines will have a younger group of kids this year with a good crew of upperclassmen to lead them along in the new (Class) 4A league and new competition,” McNulty said.
