Centennial Wrestling 2013-14 Capsule Preview

CENTENNIAL

Head coach: Steven Wike, fifth season

Returning lettermen: 10

Top wrestlers: Hunter Brown (Jr.), London Thomas (Sr.), John Lessner (Jr.), Steven Young (Sr.)

Outlook: Brown, who was a state qualifier at 182 pounds last year, likely will wrestle at 195 and leads a list of 10 returnees.

Centennial also will be helped by the additions of London Thomas (state runnerup at 138 pounds at Cimarron last season) and Steven Young (third at 285 pounds in the Division III state meet with Spring Mountain).

“This is the youngest team that Centennial has had in three years,” Wike said. “I expect our young wrestlers to keep up a winning tradition here.

“We expect to continue to find new levels to ascend to as a program and definitely plan on having multiple wrestlers on the awards stands for regionals and state.”
