CLASS 2A: Bobcats take first-day lead with six finalists

White Pine put six wrestlers into Saturday’s championship matches, as the Bobcats took the opening-day lead at the Class 2A Southern League wrestling tournament at Indian Springs on Friday.

Skylar Hall (112 pounds), Daylan Binghman (119), Ben Miller (125), Chase Stanton (152), Aryton Almberg (160) and Wyatt Williams (171) advanced to the finals for White Pine, which leads with 115 points.

Laughlin is second at 98, with West Wendover (82), Indian Springs (70) and Lincoln County (44) rounding out the top five.

Laughlin has five wrestlers — Jimmy Minniear (135), Jake Hodges (140), Vincent Burkett (160), Cody McGeshick (171) and JuQuan Lakes (285) —  who will wrestle in the finals.
