Gorman’s Hernandez wins national title

Bishop Gorman wrestler Steven Hernandez captured the 145-pound title at the National High School Coaches Association High School Junior National Wrestling Chamionships in Virginia Beach, Va. on Friday.

Hernandez, who won an individual title in the sophomore event a year ago, defeated New Jersey’s Ryan Dunphy 8-3 in the championship match.

Hernandez won the Class 4A state title at 145 pounds in February.
