Robert Kaempfer’s pin gives Las Vegas High wrestling win

Robert Kaempfer won his 285-pound match by pin to give Las Vegas High’s wrestling team a 35-33 road win over Boulder City on Thursday.

Boulder City led 33-29 going into the final match, leaving Kaempfer needing a pin or technical fall to give the Wildcats the win.

Jacob Alvarado had the night’s other big win for Las Vegas, pulling out a 3-2 triple-overtime decision over Boulder City’s Jimmy Dunagan at 152.

Antonio Saldate won by fall at 132 for Las Vegas.

Boulder City’s Curtis Brown (106), Garrett Leavitt (113) and Zane Dennington (120) took the first three matches by fall to give the Eagles a quick 18-0 lead.

Jin Takahashi won by fall in just 26 seconds at 182 for Boulder City, and Ryan Vanario won by pin at 195 to give the Eagles a 33-26 lead.
