ROUNDUP: Cimarron-Memorial breezes to two wins

Cimarron-Memorial dominated a pair of dual meets Wednesday at Arbor View, beating Centennial 50-15 and Arbor View 72-12.
The other meet saw Centennial rout Arbor View, 54-19.

The Spartans posted 16 pins on the day. Bronson Ashjian (103 pounds) and Aaron Garcia (189) each recorded two pins.

Colby Garrison (135) also was a double winner, winning by pin against Arbor View and with a 17-2 decision against Centennial.

Arbor View’s Robert Ireland (112) had two pins.

Brady Worden (125), who won by pin against Arbor View and with a 14-12 decision over Cimarron, paced Centennial.

In other matches:
Pahrump Valley 46, Bishop Gorman 25 — At Pahrump, the Trojans won five matches by pin to down the Gaels and win their Southwest League opener.

Elliott Owens (112), Chris DeMille (135), Travis Lindsay (152), Anderson Floyd (160) and Joey Colucci (189) won by pin for the Trojans, who improved to 16-3 in duals this season.

DeMille, Lindsay and Floyd each won in less than a minute, with Floyd recording the quickest pin in 36 seconds.

Gorman’s John Field handed Pahrump’s Zach Weldon his first loss of the season in the 171-pound match. Field edged Weldon, who now is 17-1 and has won 71 of his last 74 matches. Field improved to 28-3.

Eldorado 46, Rancho 32 — At Eldorado, the Sundevils won six matches by forfeit to defeat the Rams.

Eldorado’s Sergio Lopez won by pin at 112, and Cole Price won an overtime decision at 135.

Rancho won six of eight contested matches.

Las Vegas 78, Chaparral 5 — At Chaparral, Las Vegas won 13 of the 14 matches en route to a lopsided victory.

De’Armon Hall (112 pounds), Brett Sampson (119), Hugo Carrillo (125), Joseph Stratman (130), Jeremy Dailey (135), David Prieto (189) and Trey McElhaney (215) each recorded a pin for the Wildcats.

Sean Cantor (140) earned the Cowboys’ lone victory.

Desert Pines 46, Valley 30 — At Valley, the Jaguars benefited from six Vikings forfeits on their way to a Northeast League win.

Josh Neiry (171) and Oscar Flores (215) came up with pins for Valley.

Canyon Springs 52, Valley 24 — At Valley, the Pioneers used five Vikings forfeits to pull away and win.

Neiry and Flores had pins for Valley.

Canyon Springs 57, Desert Pines 20 — At Valley, the Pioneers racked up nine pins to rout the Jaguars.

Canyon Springs got pins from Emiliano Garin (125), Rafael Alcala (140), Jonathan Arita (145), John Podmeyer (171), Josh Bergueno (189) and Dishon Johnson (215).
