Roundup: Green Valley rides eight pins to win over Coronado

Justus Scott recorded a pin in just 18 seconds in the 160-pound class on Tuesday to help host Green Valley’s wrestling team to a 60-18 win over Coronado.

Will Zernich (126), David Kalayanaprapruit (132), Caleb Uhlenhopp (138), Derek Recktenwald (145), Desmond Bowers (170), Noah Hawthorne (182) and Mitch Jacobs (220) also won by pin for the Gators.

Coronado’s Jordan Marzka (195) and Nathaniel Tomisato (285) both won by fall for the Cougars.

Palo Verde 42, Western 36 — At Palo Verde, Carter Jewell’s 5-0 win at 160 pounds allowed the Panthers to pull out a win over the Warriors.

Jacob Saribay (120) also won by decision for Palo Verde, which won six matches by forfeit.

Western’s Kevin Jaimes (126), Alexander Sullivan (132), Mackenzie Sullivan (138), Juan Vargas (152) and Toban Garcia (220) all won by fall.
