ROUNDUP: Liberty earns pair of wins

Ian Wilson, Michael Sanchez and Jordan Joseph each went 2-0 on Thursday to help Liberty’s wrestling team earn a pair of wins in a three-team meet at Centennial.

The Patriots were 42-30 winners over the host Bulldogs, and 67-6 winners over Desert Oasis.

Wilson (152 pounds) recorded a pin in 3 minutes, 53 seconds for Liberty against Centennial, and added a pin in 3:51 against Desert Oasis. Joseph (170) notched a fall in 40 seconds against Centennial, and added a pin in 2:11 against the Diamondbacks.

Sanchez (120) won a 7-3 decision against Centennial, and picked up a pin in 1:17 to key the Patriots’ rout of the Diamondbacks, whose lone win came via a forfeit at 220 pounds.

Centennial’s Alec Gonzales (106) and Shaeden Santana (113) were each 2-0 for Centennial, including a pin apiece against Liberty.

Centennial 69, Desert Oasis 9 — At Centennial, Shaeden Santana picked up a pin in 17 seconds as the Bulldogs rolled the Diamondbacks.

Centennial's Jordan Karst improved to 8-0 on the season with a pin in 1:52 at 285.
