ROUNDUP: Macias, Carson, Williams lift Pioneers past Bulldogs, Rams

Edward Macias (125 pounds), Tobias Carson (160) and Eric Williams (189) each won two matches by pin to lift Canyon Springs’ wrestling team to victories over Virgin Valley and host Rancho.

The Pioneers defeated Rancho, 42-33 and beat Virgin Valley, 60-24.

Rancho downed Virgin Valley, 48-31 in the other meet. Heavyweight Angel Gomez registered two wins by fall to lead the Rams.

Boulder City tops Basic, Coronado
At Coronado, Frank Badgley (171) and Brandon Foster (189) each recorded a pair of pins to lead Boulder City to a 40-25 win over Coronado, and a 42-30 victory over Basic.

Badgley won by pin in 40 seconds against Coronado, and Foster’s two pins totaled 1:45.

Clinton Garvin (103), Rudy Garcia (152) and Kyle Erickson (285) added a pair of wins apiece for the Eagles.

In the other match, Basic won seven matches by pin to top Coronado, 48-30.

Nick Gomez (112), Vincent Segura (125), Brian Kuveke (135), Francisco Betancourt (145), Cameron Kofford (160), Ron Pretasky (215) and Josh Miller (285) won by pin for the Wolves.

Eldorado tops Chaparral, Valley
At Valley, Eldorado had three wrestlers each win two matches by pin on the way to a 60-18 win over Chaparral and a 60-9 victory over Valley.

Chaparral defeated Valley 48-27 in the other meet.
