Roundup: Nathan Rhoads’ pin clinches win for Las Vegas

Las Vegas High’s Nathan Rhoads pinned his opponent at 132 pounds on Saturday to clinch a 40-34 win over Foothill in the championship match of the Spring Valley Duals.

The Wildcats entered the final match with a 34-33 lead, and Rhoads pin clinched the title.

Caleb roach (152), Kevin Mouncil (195), Mauricio Jimenez (220) and Trace Everett (120) also recorded pins in the championship match for Las Vegas.

Wyatt English (145), Steven Lopez (160), Branson Neff (182) and Julian Bradley (285) had pins for Foothill.

Las Vegas also had victories on Saturday over Liberty, Pahrump Valley, Clark and Silverado to advance to the championship match.

Mustang Stampede

Cimarron-Memorial defeated host Shadow Ridge 44-32 to win the Mustang Stampede’s Gold Bracket championship.

In the Silver Bracket, Sierra Vista defeated Palo Verde 40-36 to win the title. Rancho placed first in the Bronze Bracket.
