ROUNDUP: Nine pins help Bengals down Palo Verde, Basic

The Bonanza wrestling team rolled up nine pins Tuesday night on its way to a double dual sweep against visiting Palo Verde and Basic.

The Bengals beat Palo Verde 39-34 and Basic 39-25.

Bonanza freshman 112-pounder Billy Wosik won by pin in 1:30 against Palo Verde and in 1:33 against Basic.

Bengals senior Stuart Montenegro (160) won by pin in 1:10 against Palo Verde and by a 3-1 decision against Basic.

Arbor View 63, Virgin Valley 7 — At Spring Valley, Arbor View recorded nine pins, including one each in six of the seven heaviest weight classes, en route to an easy win over Virgin Valley.

Spring Valley 39, Arbor View 36 — At Spring Valley, the Grizzlies earned a forfeit and a decision in the final two matches to squeeze a victory out over the Rams.

Spring Valley 60, Virgin Valley 23 — At Spring Valley, Rasheen Waters earned a pin in 23 seconds at 145 pounds as the Grizzlies downed the Bulldogs.

Spring Valley won eight matches by pin.
