ROUNDUP: Pope’s pins lead Liberty to trio of wins

Liberty’s Davan Pope recorded three pins at 138 pounds Thursday to lead the Patriots to wins over Centennial, Mojave and host Shadow Ridge.

The Patriots beat Mojave 69-12, defeated Centennial 51-21, and earned a 42-26 victory over Shadow Ridge.

Jaylon Bates was 3-0 with two pins at 113 for Liberty. Colin Schultz was 3-0 with two pins, winning twice at 160 and once at 152. D’Andre Graham also went 3-0 for Liberty, recording two decisions at 152, and a pin at 145.

Michael Sanchez (120) and Tevin Ricci (132) each recorded pins in their two contested matches.

Centennial had a 54-30 win over Mojave, and a 48-21 victory over Shadow Ridge. Shadow Ridge defeated Mojave, 60-15.

Centennial’s Chase Barber recorded three pins at 195, and teammates Jordan Karst (285) and Jerry Arroyo (220) each went 2-0 with two pins.

Shadow Ridge’s Juztis Yamane (106) won both of his contested bouts by fall.

Arbor View 36, Cimarron-Memorial 28  — At Arbor View, Bobby Gilgallon (120) and Matt King (182) both earned victories by pin to lead the Aggies to a win over the Spartans.

Cimarron had Arram Price (145), Paul Hammontree (160) and Jesse Ramos (195) all win by pin.
