ROUNDUP: Roman, Falcons earn dramatic win

Foothill’s Frankie Roman defeated Brett Sampson 7-4 at 125 pounds to give the Falcons a 39-38 victory over Las Vegas High at Bonanza on Wednesday.

Roman’s win in the final match clinched the win for the Falcons, who got pins from Sean Miller (103 pounds), Joel Olivas (130), Chad Orum (135), Alek Bowles (145) and Joey Biaggi (160).

Those pins helped make up for forfeits in four weight classes.

Bonanza 48, Foothill 28 — At Bonanza, Billy Wosik (112), Colton Bowler (130), Stuart Montenegro (160) and Miguel Castro (215) each had pins as the Bengals downed the Falcons.

Las Vegas 44, Bonanza 30 — At Bonanza, the Wildcats posted six pins on the way to the victory.

Canyon Springs 59, Desert Oasis 24 — At Canyon Springs, the Pioneers used eight pins to roll to the victory.

Western 42, Desert Oasis 42 — At Canyon Springs, the Warriors won by criteria as each team won seven matches by either pin or forfeit.

Canyon Springs 42, Western 39 — At Canyon Springs, the host Pioneers had four pins in the win, including three of the five heaviest weight classes.

Boulder City wins twice

At Faith Lutheran, Boulder City collected a pair of dual-meet wins, defeating Virgin Valley (45-28) and host Faith Lutheran (65-15).

Johnny Garcia (125 pounds), Spencer Sasarita (145), Frankie Brown (152), Steven Kaposta (160), Frankie Badgley (171), Matt Causey (215) and Lou Huxford (275) each won twice for the Eagles.
