Roundup: Spring Valley beats Sierra Vista on tiebreaker

Spring Valley’s wrestling team edged Sierra Vista on a tiebreaker to earn a road victory on Tuesday.

The team’s finished tied at 36, but the Grizzlies won on the tiebreaker for having more pins.

Ryan Mitchell (106 pounds), Bryan Lovett (113), Andres Garcia (132), Brisean Cunningham (145) and Jeremy Pakulak (182) each won by fall for Spring Valley.

Kyler Corpuz (152) had a pin for the Mountain Lions.

Basic 39, Coronado 36 — At Coronado, the Wolves won four matches by fall to beat the Cougars.

Mason Atkin (152 pounds), Ivan Espinoza (182), Dominic Gould (195) and Julio Duron (220) each had a pin for the Wolves.

Giacomo Morris (160) and Hayden Brown (170) won by pin for the Cougars.

Mojave 60, Sunrise Mountain 14 — At Sunrise Mountain, the Rattlers won nine matches by forfeit to defeat the Miners.

Sebastian James won by fall in 1:32 at 160 pounds to lead the Rattlers.

Alex Herrera (170) recorded a pin for Sunrise Mountain.

Cheyenne 60, Western 24 — At Cheyenne, the Desert Shields won 10 matches by forfeit to top the Warriors.

Western’s Angelo Vigilia (106) Abraham Navas (120) each had a pin.

Pahrump Valley 66, Desert Pines 17 — At Pahrump, 11 Trojans had victories by fall in their win over the Jaguars.

Pahrump’s Alec Torres (126), Isaak Cruz (132), Dylan Grossell (138), Dylan Wright (145), Tristan Maughan (152), Blaylon Durazo (160), Kody Peugh (170), Cole Walker (182), Jeremy Albertson (195), Morgan White (220) and Armanie McGhee (185) all won by pin.

Abegnego Gomez-Gonzalez (113) won by fall for the Jaguars.

Arbor View 76, Legacy 6 — At Legacy, Cannon Rivers won by fall in 38 seconds at 195 pounds to help the Aggies roll past the Longhorns.

Tai Tuinei (220) won by fall in 42 seconds for Arbor View, and teammate Timothy Vaughn (285) had a pin in 47 seconds.

Caleb Strickland (138), Delano Hill (160) and Darius Williams (170) also had first-period pins for the Aggies, and Hayden Erdman (132) also won by fall.

Arbor View also won five matches by forfeit.

Edward Redding won by fall at 113 for Legacy.

Las Vegas 78, Eldorado 6 — At Las Vegas, the Wildcats won eight matches by fall and rolled past the Sundevils.

Trace Everett (120), Antonio Saldate (126), Nathan Rhoads (132), Caleb Roach (145), Javio Bowman (170), Kevin Mouncil (195), Mauricio Jimenez (220) and Matt Del Valle (285) each had a pin for Las Vegas.

Eldorado’s Keyunte Schroeder won by fall at 182.
