ROUNDUP: Van Riel, Prince go 3-0 as Mustangs sweep four-team meet

Dustin Van Riel and Chet Prince each won three matches by pin Tuesday to lead Shadow Ridge’s wrestling team to a 48-26 victory over Liberty, a 44-27 win over Bonanza and a 60-12 victory over Las Vegas in a home four-team meet.

Van Riel (138 pounds) won by pin in 2:52 against Liberty, in 1:37 against Bonanza, and in 5:15 against Las Vegas.

Prince (170) won by fall in 2:12 against Liberty, in 48 seconds against Bonanza, and in 2:45 against Las Vegas.

Liberty 46, Bonanza 24 — At Shadow Ridge, Michael Sanchez (120) scored a first-period pin as the Patriots downed the Bengals.

Liberty 51, Las Vegas 23 — At Shadow Ridge, Jordan Joseph (170) earned a first-period pin as the Patriots rolled past the Wildcats.

Bonanza 49, Las Vegas 24 — At Shadow Ridge, the Bengals won seven matches by pin, including six in the first period, to top the Wildcats.

Palo Verde 55, Foothill 21 — At Foothill, the Panthers won three matches in less than a minute en route to the win.

Ryan Ratliff (195) had the quickest pin, winning in 16 seconds. Logan Strobeck (113) and Billy Wosick (132) each recorded a first-period pin for Palo Verde.

Eldorado 45, Foothill 33 — At Foothill, the Sundevils won seven matches by pin, including two in less than a minute, to top the Falcons.

Foothill 36, Desert Oasis 30 — At Foothill, the Falcons had two pins and took advantage of three forfeits to edge the Diamondbacks.

Moapa Valley 41, Boulder City 38 — At Boulder City, the Pirates won six of nine contested matches to edge the Eagles.

Moapa Valley recorded five pins.

Centennial 62, Boulder City 15 — At Boulder City, the Bulldogs recorded six falls and won three matches by forfeit to top the Eagles.

Centennial 64, Moapa Valley 15 — At Boulder City, the Bulldogs won seven matches by pin to cruise past the Pirates.

Centennial also recorded a pair of forfeit wins.

Desert Pines 39, Durango 34 — At Durango, Ardin Heki (160) won by pin in 44 seconds to help the Jaguars edge the Trailblazers.

Desert PInes 48, Del Sol 30 — At Durango, Heki won in 1:07 to lead the Jaguars to the victory.

Durango 42, Del Sol 18 — At Durango, the Trailblazers recorded five falls to top the Dragons.

Eldorado 38, Desert Oasis 36 — At Foothill, the Sundevils won three matches by forfeit to edge the Diamondbacks.
