ROUNDUP: Wildcats breeze past Miners, Cowboys

Las Vegas High’s wrestling team rode 13 combined pins to a pair of easy victories Thursday over Chaparral and at Sunrise Mountain.
 
The Wildcats razed the Miners, 80-0 and cruised past the Cowboys, 69-3.
 
Napoleon Aniciete (140 pounds), Johnathon Hales (189) and Trey McElhaney (215) each earned two pins for Las Vegas.
 
The Wildcats posted eight pins against Sunrise Mountain, including four in the first minute of the match.

Miners edges Chaparral
At Sunrise Mountain, the Miners won five matches by forfeit on the way to a 39-33 victory over Chaparral.

 
Jesus Aguilar (125) tallied the Miners’ lone pin in one minute, 37 seconds.

Gorman muscles past Bonanza
At Gorman, 140-pounder Tommy Field needed only 37 seconds to register one of Bishop Gorman’s six pins as the Gaels downed the Bengals, 42-30.

 
Henry Bradley (130), Steven Hernandez (152), Jimmy Clark (171), Johnny Field (189) and Christian Alden (285) also won by pin for Gorman.

Desert Oasis charges past Clark
At Clark, Braxton Brockway (125), Christopher Paratore (140) and Jovn Palmer (171) each recorded a first-period pin to lead the Diamondbacks to a 57-15 win over the Chargers.

Spring Valley hangs up Pahrump Valley
At Pahrump, the visiting Grizzlies rolled to a 64-16 win over the Trojans behind pins from Nick Hess (103), Jordan Conner (125), Raymond Waters (145), Rasheem Waters (152) and Rashad Waters (160).

 
Elliott Owens (119) managed the lone pin for Pahrump.
