Thirty-second pin helps Grizzlies edge host Mustangs in Shadow Ridge invite

Raymond Waters needed only 30 seconds to register a pin in the championship match at 145 pounds Saturday and help Spring Valley capture first place at the Mustang Stampede at Shadow Ridge.
The Grizzlies had a team score of 479, just enough to beat the host Mustangs (473). Basic was third at 403, followed by Arbor View at 402.
Rashad Waters (160) and Gerald Grazzini (285) also won flight titles for the Grizzlies, which had two second-place finishes, three thirds and one fourth.
Shadow Ridge had six individual winners — Sean Mestas (112), Donovan Caldwell (130), Sylvae Washington (152), Michael Tootle (171), Jordan Kurth (189) and Brandon Fisher (215). The Mustangs had three wrestlers take third and one place fourth.
Arbor View collected a pair of titles thanks to Kevin Caruso (140) and Ruben Rodriguez (125). The Aggies also had two seconds, one third and four fourths.
Foothill’s Sean Miller won at 103 pounds. Basic’s Kevin Magdael took the title at 119, and Boulder City’s Allen Haines claimed first place at 135.
