WRESTLING: Anthony Canedo records first-period pin as Silverado edges Coronado

Anthony Canedo recorded a first-period pin Wednesday to help Silverado’s wrestling team capture a 39-30 road win over Coronado in a Southeast League dual meet.

Canedo pinned his opponent at 152 pounds in 1 minute, 45 seconds.

Mason Kaplan (138), Brandon Paris (170), Joseph Carrasco (182), Alexander Dominguez (195) each won by fall in the second or third rounds for the Skyhawks.

Coronado’s Anthony Skeirik (120) recorded the match’s quickest pin in 46 seconds. Josh Molloy (285) also pinned his opponent for the Cougars.

Liberty 49, Basic 25 — At Basic, Michael Lancelot pinned his opponent at 152 pounds in 32 seconds to help lead the Patriots over the Wolves.

Antony Betancourt (113), Julian Watkins (126), Caleb Wright (138) and Wesley Gonzalez (160) all picked up victories by fall for the Patriots.

Basic’s Ivan Espinoza pinned his opponent at 170 pounds in 51 seconds. Dominick Gould also won by fall at 195 pounds for the Wolves.

Clark 54, Desert Oasis 24 — At Desert Oasis, Raymond Gonzalez (126 pounds), Julio Alvarez (145) and Ryan Garren (160) all won by fall to carry the Chargers over the Diamondbacks.

Clark benefited from six forfeits.

Desert Oasis’ Timothy Cuamba (152), Brandon Bueno (220) and Andrew Dean (285) all won by fall.
