WRESTLING: Bonanza nips Sundevils on criteria

Bonanza’s wrestling team won four matches by pin on Tuesday to top Eldorado in a match at Rancho High.
Both teams finished with 33 points, but Bonanza won on criteria because the Bengals had four pins to the Sundevils’ two.
Hector Montenegro recorded a first-period pin at 182 pounds to lead Bonanza. Megan Gonzalez (126), Jonathan Mujica (160) and Elias Aguilar (220) also won by fall for the Bengals.
Jordan Lewis (152) and Reydin Dennis (285) had pins for Eldorado.
Rancho 51, Eldorado 24 — At Rancho, Daniel Diaz recorded a pin in just 58 seconds at 126 pounds to help the Rams top the Sundevils.
Joshua Egan (120), Alex Arnone (152), Jason Ortiz (160) and Jason Cebreros (182) also won by pin for Rancho.
Tre’Quan Harris (113) won by pin for Eldorado.
Rancho 63, Bonanza 18 — At Rancho, Julian Quezada needed just 59 seconds to win by pin at 145 pounds and help the Rams top the Bengals.
Diaz (126), Arnone (152), Ortiz (160) and Bailey Davis (285) also won by pin for Rancho, which collected four wins by forfeit.
Ruben Hernandez (138), Montenegro (182) and Elias Aguilar (220) won by pin for Bonanza.
Centennial 40, Arbor View 24 — At Centennial, Earl Teopaco (138) and Brett Giles (152) each won by pin to help the Bulldogs top the Aggies and secure first place in the Northwest League.
Arbor View’s Nathan Egbalic (113) and Tyler Ramos (120) won by fall.
Desert Pines 38, Sunrise Mountain 17 — At Sunrise Mountain, the Jaguars won just one contested match, but topped the Miners.
Jorge Magana won an 8-3 decision at 182 pounds for Desert Pines, which won six matches by forfeit.
Travis Carpenter (170) and Angel Uresti (132) won by fall for Sunrise Mountain.
Cimarron-Memorial 62, Desert Oasis 15 — At Cimarron, the Spartans recorded eight pins in a win over the Diamondbacks.
Jesse Saavedra (126), Paul Bagnoli (132), Stanton Peay (138), Terrance Woods (145), Logan Marx-Hamilton (152), Johnathan Ruggeroli (160), Davin Maiden (170) and Miguel Torres (285) each won by pin for Cimarron.
Daniel Costa (106) won by pin for Desert Oasis.
Foothill 42, Coronado 26 — At Coronado, Wyatt English secured a win by pin at 106 pounds in just 21 seconds to help the Falcons top the Cougars.
Angel Camacho (182) also won by pin for Foothill.
Michael Gale (145) and Myles Wamsley (160) won by pin for Coronado.
Las Vegas 51, Silverado 28 — At Las Vegas, Antonio Saldate (106), Jake Bowden (132), Anthony De La Cruz (138), Andrew Stokes (145), Cruz Littlefield (182), Jorge Gutierrez (220) and Robert Kaempfer (285) all won by fall to help the Wildcats rout the Skyhawks.
R.J. Berdiago (113), Anthony Viggiano (170) and Dean Doss (195) recorded pins for Silverado.
Shadow Ridge 49, Bishop Gorman 22 — At Shadow Ridge, Kevin Henry won by pin at 195 pounds in only 15 seconds to help the Mustangs down the Gaels.
A.J. Thai-Bautista (106), Eli Rivas (138), Lucas Washington (145) and Jarret Gledhill (170) also won by pin for Shadow Ridge.
Santi Bent (120) and Ryan Garrett (285) won by pin for Gorman.
