WRESTLING: Durango cruises to home win over Bonanza

Ethan Slater and Josiah Boyd each recorded second-period pins Tuesday, and Durango’s wrestling team beneffited from six forfeits in their 57-30 home win over Bonanza.

Slater won his match at 132 pounds, and Boyd won at 220 for the Trailblazers.

Mackenzie Sullivan (113), Ruben Hernandez (145), Ammon Montenegro (182) and Daniel Hernandez (195) all won by fall for Bonanza.

Sierra Vista 55, Desert Oasis 10 — At Desert Oasis, Noah Parker pinned his opponent at 145 pounds, and the Mountain Lions benefitted from seven forfeits in their win over the Diamondbacks.

Mike Lopez (126) and Akram Zerhouni (132) each won decisions for Sierra Vista.

Las Vegas 67, Rancho 6 — At Las Vegas, Mauricio Jimenez pinned his opponent in 48 seconds at 220 pounds to help the Wildcats rout the Rams.

Nathan Rhodes (113), Antonio Saldate (126) and Daniel Law (132) also won by fall for Las Vegas, which won four matches by forfeit.
