WRESTLING: Johnson caps Rattlers’ rally over Liberty

Mojave’s Kevin Johnson recorded a 10-5 decision at 113 pounds Thursday to give the Rattlers a 36-33 win over Liberty at Shadow Ridge.

Lanson Evangelista won by pin at 106 to tie the match at 33. The Rattlers rallied from a 29-3 deficit.

Adrian Saravia started the rally with a pin at 170, followed by pins by Julian Jenkins (195), Allen Pagarigan (220) and Carlos Rangel (285).

Liberty’s Kyle Dudder (120), Julian Boccadoro (138) and Tevin Ricci (160) won by fall.

Shadow Ridge 46, Centennial 24 — Brendt Burleson (120) and John Scarpati (170) each had first-period pins to lead the Mustangs over the Bulldogs.

A.J. Bautista (113), Ethan Petersen (132) and Tra Forrest (285) also won by pin for Shadow Ridge.

London Thomas (152), Hunter Brown (195) and Roger Alvarado (220) won by fall for Centennial.

Centennial 47, Mojave 27 — Brown won by pin in 53 seconds at 195 to lead the Bulldogs over the Rattlers.

Ryan Pierce (106), Tucker Edwards (126) and Earl Teopaco (132) also won by fall for Centennial.

Mojave’s Christian Collins pinned his opponent in 17 seconds at 120 pounds. Saravia (170) and Rangel (285) also had first-period pins for the Rattlers.

Shadow Ridge 60, Mojave 15 — Burleson (120), Petersen (132), Scarpati (170), Juztis Yamane (106), Uziel D’Mattus (126), Jonah McKee (145) and Brayden Triliegi (160) recorded pins as the Mustangs routed the Rattlers.

Rangel and Allen Pagarigan (220) won by pin for Mojave.

Centennial 37, Liberty 30 — James Kurashige (113) and Alvarado (220) posted first-period pins to lead the Bulldogs over the Patriots.

Bruno Maraccini (138) also had a pin for Centennial.

Liberty’s Storm Roper won by pin in just two seconds at 145 pounds. Dylan Pope (120) and Siah Monterde (285) also won by pin for the Patriots.

Shadow Ridge 42, Liberty 27 — The Mustangs recorded five falls on the way to the win.

Yamane (106), Petersen (132), Scarpati (170), Elvin Cruz (182) and Brandon Irvin (195) had pins for Shadow Ridge.

Roper (145), Monterde (285) and Nicholas Watnem (220) had pins for Liberty.
