WRESTLING: Pierson’s quick fall helps Panthers top Grizzlies

Kayden Pierson pinned his opponent in 27 seconds at 152 pounds to help Palo Verde’s wrestling team to a 48-33 home win over Spring Valley on Wednesday.

Jonathan Mollah (113) won by fall in 37 seconds for the Panthers, who also got pins from Kavika Covington (170) and Cole Judd (195).

Dan Diaz (106), Juan Manco (126), Eduardo Penha (138) and D’Angelo Cook (220) won by fall for the Grizzlies.

Shadow Ridge 51, Arbor View 12 — At Arbor View, John Scarpatti won by pin in just 23 seconds at 170 pounds to help the Mustangs rout the Aggies.

Brayden Triliegi pinned his opponent in 54 seconds at 160 for Shadow Ridge, and Juztis Yamane (106), A.J. Bautista (113) and Austin Jones (152) added pins for the Mustangs.

Jonathan Molina (220) won by fall for Arbor View.

Rancho 51, Valley 29 — At Rancho, Julian Quezada won by pin in 37 seconds at 160 pounds, and the Rams topped the Vikings.

Luni Tolai won by fall in 1:06 at 285 pounds for Rancho, which also got pins from Pedro Virrueta (120), Ariel Vivas (126), Artemio Zepeda-Bernal (132), Christopher Rojas (138), Jason Ortiz (158) and Isaac Scott (170).

Isaias Urbina (106) and Kevin Rock (220) each won by fall for Valley.

Rancho 41, Eldorado 33 — At Rancho, Scott won by fall in 1:09 at 170 pounds, and the Rams edged the Sundevils.

Virrueta (120), Zepeda-Bernal (132) and Quezada (160) also pinned their opponents for Rancho.

TreQuis Harris (106) and Quinn Edwards (220) won by pin for Eldorado.
