WRESTLING: Ryan Mitchell, Grizzlies start strong in win over Durango

Spring Valley’s Ryan Mitchell started the night with a win by technical fall at 106 pounds to set the tone as the Grizzlies defeated visiting Durango 53-21 on Wednesday.

Andres Garcia (120), Michael Canada (126), Tyler Nishi-Rivera (132), Matthew Hare (145) and Jeremy Pakulak (182) all won by fall for Spring Valley.

Durango’s Kaden Renshaw (138), Josiah Boyd (220) and De’Anjico Brown (285) each won by fall.

Spring Valley 72, Desert Oasis 6 — At Spring Valley, the Grizzlies benefited from nine forfeits in a rout of the Diamondbacks.

Matthew Hare won by fall for Spring Valley at 145 pounds, as did Brisean Cunningham (152) and Xavier Hopkins (160).

Jacob Hare had the lone win for Desert Oasis, winning by pin at 126 pounds.
