WRESTLING: Scott’s quick pin helps Crusaders beat Pirates

Ashton Scott recorded a pin in the 182-pound weight class in just 28 seconds Tuesday to help Faith Lutheran’s wrestling team to a 57-18 win over host Moapa Valley.

Joey LaPlaca (113), Owen Lawrie (126), Tucker Prince (152), Dylan DeFrank (195), Christian Khoury (220) and Ethan Wolfe (285) also won by fall for the Crusaders.

Dakota Baldwin (132), Kaleb Bodily (160) and Austin Belcher (170) won by pin for the Pirates.

Faith Lutheran 57, Lincoln County 24 — At Overton, Brian Shorey (152) won by pin in 1:52 to help the Crusaders top the Lynx.

Esteban Martinez (132) also won by pin for the Crusaders, who collected seven victories by forfeit.

Lincoln County’s Derek Mathews (113), Jesse Mathews (126) and William Culverwell (138) won by pin.

Faith Lutheran 66, Pahranagat Valley 18 — At Overton, Logan Heese (120) won by pin with one second left in the first period to help the Crusaders top the Panthers.

Kent Yamamoto (145), Prince (152) and Ben Flandermeyer (195) also collected pins for Faith Lutheran.

Jeremy Minick (138), Bailey Peck (170) and Mateo Linares (220) won by pin for Pahranagat Valley.

Shadow Ridge 44, Cimarron-Memorial 21 — At Shadow Ridge, Elvin Cruz (195) won by pin in 1:01 to help the Mustangs by the Spartans.

Juztis Yamane (106) also recorded a fall for Shadow Ridge.

Paul Hammontree (160) and Daniel Coreas (220) won by pin for Cimarron.

Shadow Ridge 43, Las Vegas 14 — At Shadow Ridge, Yamane (106) needed only 13 seconds to win by pin and help the Mustangs by the Wildcats.

Ethan Peterson (132) and Cruz (195) also recorded a pin for Shadow Ridge.

Las Vegas’ Antonio Jauregui (160) won by fall.

Las Vegas 48, Cimarron-Memorial 20 — At Shadow Ridge, Jacob Anderson (195) recorded a first-period pin to help the Wildcats top the Spartans.

Jaeson Caday (120) and Jacob Littlefield (170) were among those who also won by pin for the Wildcats.

Omeed Chamanzad (113), Jesse Ramos (182) and Coreas (220) won by pin for Cimarron.
