A 71-year-old inmate died Saturday at the Regional Medical Facility at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City of a chronic medical condition, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Blood was serving concurrent sentences of 5 years to life with the possibility of parole for two counts of sexual assault. He also was serving consecutive sentences of 15 years for robbery and 6 years for battery by a prisoner, the department of corrections said. The Carson City Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy.
