Man who died from Thursday car crash identified

The man who died Friday morning after he was in a car crash the previous night has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Alfonso Embalsado, 53, was a passenger in a Toyota 4Runner that was struck on Tropicana Avenue by a Dodge pickup truck. According to Las Vegas police, the driver of the Dodge lost control of the vehicle and crossed the median.

The Dodge driver was transported to University Medical Center along with three people in the Toyota.

Embalsado, a Las Vegas resident, died Friday morning from his injuries. According to the coroner’s office, he died of multiple injuries from a motor vehicle accident. The cause was ruled accidental.

Police noted the roads were slick from rain when the accident happened.
