Woman found with ex-boyfriend’s body parts convicted of murder

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — A Southern California woman arrested with a trash bin containing her former boyfriend’s body parts has been convicted of first-degree murder.

Fifty-four year old Carmen Montenegro was convicted Friday after three days of deliberations by a Superior Court jury in San Bernardino County.

The Press-Enterprise of Riverside reported Saturday that jurors decided that Montenegro stabbed to death and dismembered 63-year-old Samuel Wiggins Jr.

Montelongo was arrested in 2011 after being discovered pushing a trash bin down a street in Ontario that contained parts of Wiggins’ body.

The newspaper says police later found the man’s head and arms in two large flower pots at her relative’s home in the Los Angeles suburb of Bell Gardens.

Montenegro is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 29.
